Bought an Eastman E2OM (cedar-topped cousin of the E1OM) from John about 2 years ago. Have been only happy with the guitar since. Highly recommend both the Eastman instruments and Maple Street.

I think the ebony fretboard on the Eastman improves the midrange , nice sounding for the price

I’ve owned guitars from most of the big brands. Let’s see…Gibson, Ovation, Taylor, and Martin. The 2 acoustics I own now are Eastmans. E10SS (J-45 copy) and an HE322CE (AC322CE) Very happy with them. Bought both used for a total of about 1100 bucks.

John and the entire team at Maple Street are the best. Patient with noob enthusiasm and questions, veritable fonts of gear head knowledge, and plain good folks. Wide range of acoustic and electric guitars, ukuleles, mandolins, amps, and assorted gizmo’s. And I’ll take the Martin for the meatier, darker sound.

I would like to add Yamaha fs 3

It's crazy but somehow I like the Eastman E1OM more than the Martin. More balanced in sound and fuller treble. No, it dosen't sound as punchy or open compared to the 00015m but that's is due to the longer scale and non-scalloped bracing on the Martin. I actually own the Eastman and it's a KILLER guitar! Plays very well and sound just as good as you would expect from a much more expensive guitar.

Eastman for the win here, but I have heard very nice 00015 Martins, this one lacked a bit in mid range charm.

Martin for me :)

Huh, no Yamaha red label? Have to say I haven’t tried an Eastman yet. I had a Martin OMM, but had to sell unfortunately. Shopping for a solid wood guitar.
-
John, what tuning are you using on the blues thing?
-
Martin always wins. lol
