  • There is no better sports fan than a Cleveland fan! Simply the best and I'm a New Yorker, we have those fairweather fans! Beautiful stuff Eric & his fans!

1:40 "25 or 30 bucks for a ticket."  Ahhhh... the good old days.

This is truly one of the most special things to ever happen in the NFL.  Eric Metcalf was a beast!  The sound of those Cleveland fans roaring, it's spectacular.

I was there. The girl that I had been dating bought the tickets before we broke up. She had great class and decided that we should still go. We were not disappointed. Thanks Eric! Thanks Stacy! What a great day.
  • Can NEVER forget those punt returns for TD's. Metcalfe was incredible.

These were the real glory days of the NFL... fans real close to the field... less suits on the sidelines... the age of great TV announcers... less polished product... made it feel like I was there.

2020 and still getting cold chills from this clip! I remember when it happened, I was only 13 and the family was going nuts all huddled around the front room TV!
  • I remember where I was. I was on vacation in Oregon. My buds and I were watching thee game at a bar called The Cooler, in Eugene. My buddy "Stubby" threw his pool stick in excitement. That moment is even more special to remember now, as my friend "Stubby" has since died. God bless Stubby.

i'm a browns fan from california. i never have stepped foot in ohio. my family is from cuba, my two older brothers were born in miami, but i was born and raised in california. my brothers used to tell me all of the time that i had to be a dolphins fan, but i didn't like the idea of someone telling me what to do. So in 1985 the browns were playing the dolphins in the playoff and were up 21-3 at the half; it was easy to cheer on the browns to my brothers' dismay. needless to say, the dolphins came back and won 24-21 and I never have given up on the browns. it has been a rough few years as a browns fan....

I am not from Cleveland. Not a fan of the Browns. However, THIS original version of the Browns and its fan base is one of the reasons why I came to love this game of football. What Modell did to the city and the generations of fans will never be repaired even with that expansion version that has a different fan base and no connection to the history of that city. If this new version wants to be a winner again, it's got to connect with the history of the city and its roots, not just the football history.
  • I will never forget this game, I was at the jan sobieskie club in Kulpmont pa. I was with a dozen steelers fans and myself the loan Browns fan. It was great to drink beer and watch the Browns win one against the hated steelers. It was an owsome day for Eric and one of the most memorable games in my life thanks to him. Boy I miss winning, I love the Browns but it's been to long now and what we did to our classic great uniforms is a shame. You know when you have a good thing like grand moms cooking or moms home made apple pie you don't mess with it, and that's what the Browns uniforms were. Timeless, tradition , a symbol of the past , a winning recipe , they were ageless and loved ,to change them is a sin.

Just got back today from Rock City Tap House In Parma Ohio on state rd. MET ERIC METCALF!!! He was there to celebrate the home opener today and they will have a browns player every week for this season! He was my hero growing up! He signed a card for me when I was 10 at training camp 1993! He was slick, fast, and so elusive! All Browns fans give a bark to this king DAWG!!! Hung out at his table for four hours watching games with him with my kids was priceless!

The 2nd return is probably my all-time favorite football highlight. Eric Metcalf was fun to watch.

I remember this day well. On the second punt return I was jumping up and down with joy when I landed on one of my kids toys and broke my ankle. Good memories...
