There might be someone that comes along and hits 4, but no one is EVER going hit 3 in a row on the first pitch, from 3 different pitchers, to 3 different part of the park. It is still amazing 41 years later.
  • My Dad was at this game. He's somewhere out there in right field. He was a man of few words, but he lit up when reminiscing of that night and the Yankees in general. He passed away this year. I'll pass his stories down to my son.

Here after Mr October gave us a history lesson and reminder
  • One of the sweetest swings in baseball !!!!! I remember being on my little league team in Oakland (we were called the Oakland A's) and our coach took our team to the Oakland Coliseum to watch the real Oakland A's practice. There was no game that day. Guess who walked over and talked to us???? None other than the great Reggie Jackson himself. I remember he was wearing the old style Oakland A's uniform, so it must been around the late 1960's or early 70's . Anyway, Reggie spent time with us, answered all our questions and gave us tips on playing the game. I never forget that day and I will never will forget Reggie, a class act all the way

“I didn’t come to New York to be a star. I’m bringing my star with me.” -Reggie Jackson.

Love Howard Cosell, What a colossal blow! That comment and statement stands out big time. I love his home run trot.

The way he came out for the curtain call with the crowd cheering gives me goose bumps.
  • Like with Ali, Cosell makes these historical events all the more memorable.

I was 11 years old and I still get chills when I see this

When Reggie Jackson first came to NYC, he told the press: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink." Then proved it with a performance of a lifetime during World Series play.
  • Reggie Jackson was a great athlete. Defiantly one of the best baseball players of all time.
