Dave Asprey, founder of The Bulletproof Executive, is a Silicon Valley investor and technology entrepreneur who spent 15 years and over $300,000 to hack his own biology. Dave lost 100 pounds without counting calories or excessive exercise, used techniques to upgrade his brain by more than 20 IQ points, and lowered his biological age while learning to sleep more efficiently in less time. Learning to do these seemingly impossible things transformed him into a better entrepreneur, a better husband, and a better father. From private brain EEG facilities hidden in a Canadian forest to remote monasteries in Tibet, from Silicon Valley to the Andes, Dave used hacking techniques and tried everything on himself, obsessively focused on discovering the answers to this one persistent question: What are the simplest things you can do to be better at everything?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

All the negative comments are making me sad. I don't think his message is "look at me, I'm better than you". The message is "I was weak, but I tried these cool things and they helped me out. Wanna try?".

I don't understand why there's so much hate for this guy. One of the good talks I've listened to today, and one I'll definitely be researching and listening to again.

Best information I have ever gotten in a while... this guy is like a human guru compiling years worth of information in a span of less than 30 minutes. Although I do admit, I skipped a few small portions in the beginning half, but the last half was spot on valuable information.

He has found the ultimate way of selling products: Step 1: Scare people into thinking that everything they r doing is wrong. Step 2: Support ur claims with pseudoscience and cherry picked studies. Step 3: Gain trust by telling things everyone knows r useful - yoga, meditation, exercise, healthy diet etc. And finally, the last step - the money making step Step 4: In addition to doing all those beneficial things - buy his products! - Brilliant Salesmanship!! -- I just wish even 1/3 of what he's saying was true...

He is TEACHING what he has learned I am grateful!
  • wow what a great and motivational talk, i have looked in to alot of things he talks about and its really great having some one like him leaving a road map for the rest of us.

The science may or not be valuable behind his work but his story is interesting. I think we all should reevaluate how we treat our bodies.
  • The sleep portion struck a cord with me. I spent the first few months of 2016 doing my best to get 7-8 hours of sleep, but I could never stay sleep. And I never felt good after 8. I eventually realized that my body didn't want or like that many hours. I actually run better on 6-6.5 hours.

Love love Dave. Living Bulletproof has changed my life!

Knowledge really is powerful! knowing yourself is being able to fix anything. focus on the issue, everything is energy.... we are unlimited.
  • I always forget that Dave did Ayahuasca. He never really talks about it in-depth. Not to my knowledge anyway. But I listen to his podcasts ALL THE TIME. And I read the articles on his website.
  • @TeaInTheMoment
I've also had flux for a decade and watched this entire video with it. A meta moment for sure!
  • @logangomez1209
I wouldn't have found this guy if it wasn't for mindvalley which has been changing my life.

most amazing Ted talk ive listened to in months! thank you. i always though coffee was overrated cant understand people going bonkers for it while i have more energy than them without coffee.
  • @BrandonFer
I think his message is that you can sleep as long or as little as you'd like. Just don't let it get in the way of your life and to work just as hard as you sleep and you can still acheive anything you'd like with the amount of time you choose to sleep.
  • @goyita31
Thank you so much! Very interés ring.
