“I promise I wont get patriotic over a fictional country” 3 drinks later “WE MUST TAKE BACK GRACEMERIA!”
  • Somehow feeling a sense of misty-eyed patriotism for a fictional nation I’ll never live in.

To everyone just now discovering these soundtracks thanks to Unknown Skies... Welcome, new ACES.

President Thomas Jefferson of Virginia once said: "Books make you homesick for a place you've never even been." The ENTIRE Ace Combat Series gives you an overwhelming sense of patriotic duty to a country that doesn't even exist; perfectly punctuated by a score that could be the time-keeping soundtrack to a (real!) life well-lived. One of bravery, adversity, and overcoming all odds to win because of the sheer iron will to NEVER. EVER GIVE UP! I would say "The Sky is the Limit" friends, but no. To us Aces....we OWN THE EFFING SKY! Hooyah, Aces and Nuggets. HOOYAH!

This game is the only reason why I brush the dust off my 360.

Y'know, I got some real feels for Shamrock by the end of the game. You get booted out of your home and country in an enemy surprise attack, kicked out to an island in the ass end of nowhere, take THAT back, and the rest of your fucking country to boot. You get reprimanded by your own military for unnecessarily shooting down a squadron of enemy aces, shoot down a flying fucking runway and its fleet of jets and flying fortresses, destroy a couple trucks of WMDs, and be the damned spearhead of almost every assault. You eventually take back your goddamn hometown, thinking it's a fairytale ending, then find out your family died after EVERYTHING you've accomplished to get to them. That's a real kick in the dick, I tell you what.
  • From a Belkan War veteran, to the nuggets playing Unkown Skies for the first time: We veterans lost our wings long ago, age comes to check on ya, you know? But you, who has never played an Ace Combat game in your life, you have the chance to soar through those clean blue skies and be the ACE you are meant to be. There was a time where we held the skies, I defended Valais Air Base, I fought in B7R, I witnessed the liberation of Ustio's capital and I saw Belka Fall, but that time is now long gone. The sky belongs to you now, a new generation of aces. This is my message to you, first time Ace Combat pilot. Now it's time for you to spread those wings and fly. Fly high and fast nugget. Us old timers? We'll just look on from here.

Everytime I hear the good part, at 3:14, I just imagine Emmerian forces POURING into the capital, massive dogfight, thundering fleet battle, tanks just busting everything apart, Emmerian rebels and civilians just beating the crap out of the Estovakians. Goosebumps everytime!

Nugget that came from AC7 here. Thanks for being such a welcoming community, not something you see often these days. I'll definitely stay here for a while. Fly high and kick ass, lads.

This game has a special and unique place in my heart. As a kid, somewhere between 8-11, I played the very first mission of this game, got kicked out of my goddamn country, and then had my parents take the game away from me because war is bad. I said planes were rad. It didn't matter. Fast forward to when I turned 18. One of the very first things I did as a newly minted adult was buy this game and kick the bastard Estovakians out of Emmeria. It was a pretty emotional playthrough, I NEEDED to know how this story ended, and Jesus it was so much better than I ever thought it was gonna be. Got a little misty eyed with the breath catch when you fly straight into the center of Gracemeria and started knocking anything that gets within range out of the sky. This song still gives me that feeling 10 years later. Also, my heart still hurts for Shamrock.

This song is just... so freakin' heroic. It's like the protagonists, have a backup plan, and it's starting to work, not soon after, the ultimate reinforcements arrive to overwhelm the enemy. The light that's casting aside the shadows. I would even call this song "New Hope".

    決意、怒り、恐れ、 後には退けない、退けたとて退きはしない。 そんな感じ。 素晴らしい曲。
