I really need to come see you. You’re passionate about it and to be frank, my neurologist isn’t. I’m 23 and was diagnosed when I was 15. I deal with many things from ms and you seem to be speaking to me directly to me with most of your videos. Keep up the good work and I’ll be reaching out!
  • Great video Dr Boster. Your videos just keep on getting better and better! I watch them all and find them very helpful. 😊

I'm with you on drug holidays for stimulants. For some reason many psychiatrists seem to oppose this. It's better to play the long game and minimize drug tolerance, however pleasant it may be to skip days.

I quit exercising around 2 years after the pandemic. And it's hard for me now because I can't do what I used to do and I compare myself to how I was. I will try to quit that and exercise more. Thank
  • Thank you for your tips. Ive been going aqua jogging and doing exercises in the water. I find it easier on my legs due to less weight bearing.

The first subject I've seen posted so far where a piece of advice is 100% out of my personal comfort....I used to love sleeping...a great night sleep and waking up rejuvenated was golden....since I've been diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS...sleeping is my mortal enemy....my body just doesn't do well spending a long time in any one position....sitting, standing, laying down.....so sleeping for x amount of hours...leads to me waking up stiff and sore. It takes at least an hour or two...to regain "unstiff" mobility again. If there was a way for me to avoid sleep altogether...I would....but we all know that's not an option either....I just really miss that "rejuvenated" feeling....I haven't had anything even close in the last 5 years no matter the amount of time sleeping.
  • Yes, in the beginning of last year, when I got dxed, it was very hard to exercise. My legs were so heavy, like lead, then. Immediately I ate healthy produce and no processed foods or added sugar. Last year, before all this, I weighed 181 lbs. I began to lose a lot of weight and within 6 months I lost 30-40lbs! I now weigh 130lbs. I have much more energy now than I did before. I do sometimes struggle with insomnia symptoms, my dad had that and my husband, that usually means I have had too much exercise and not enough output for that energy.

Great video. Wish I lived in Ohio! Haven't been able to find a competent specialist in CA. 😢
  • Totally agree with the sugar- I do find my symptoms are worse after a day of sweets 🍫. Ty for all these great reminders and things that we can do to help ourselves feel the best we can. ❤ #StrongerTogether
  • Ok, I don’t know why I needed YOU to tell me, but I’m going to try no sugar. I we ALL know that. We have heard 1000s time to cut out sugar. It helps that you are my doctor and a great friend. But I am going to try it! Thank you so much. I love you and your community!

Modafinil is a game-changer! I love it. I won't tell you my long story since I was diagnosed in 98 and my journey with provigil but, it was originally prescribed to pilots on reconnaissance missions because it would keep them awake without the side effects of shaking or feeling crazy.

What sugars to remove? Remove fructose? Remove honey? How about other simple carbs? Pasta? Most of the breads I make have some sugar in them. A pizza crust having sugar is not surprising.

I love how energetic you are Dr Boster, it makes me smile every time!
