We all have blinders. We can only see things from our own perspective. But when we come together with a common cause or a shared vision, our view broadens and we're able to recognize things that we never could've seen on our own. That's why the best companies are diverse: they have diverse thinking.

When you have to force diversity than you know it's wrong, You cannot force someone to like or love someone else... STOP IT,
  • "I love hiring people who have no idea about this job..." Simon Sinek What a feel good statement...as long as you don't have to make a profit.

Perspective transcends the physical. You cannot reasonably assume you know what someone thinks, you have to ask them. Furthermore, you cannot know what a person is truly like until you interact with them. A person's qualities are not determined by attributes but by experience.

“IF, there’s a shared set of values, and a shared vision.” What a powerful if

It is racist to think that the all white board room has 1 perspective. People of different ethnicities are more similar than different. I'd really hate if someone said all Indians think the same. No, there can be a conservative Indian, a liberal Indian, a rich Indian, a poor Indian, a lazy Indian. We don't need anyone from sub-saharan africa to tell us what to think. We can think what anyone can think
  • Imagine getting a job to fulfil a certain quota. I got my job because I’m black.🥳

We just need to repect each others perspectives without shoving it down peoples throats

Diversity hiring and inclusion used to be something tactical and strategic. Something to do to get an edge on your competition. When that devolved into what one might call, political nepotism, that's when the terms lost all meaning. Also, when people grew so entitled to everything that nothing should ever exclude anyone, problems happened. Some things, some products aren't for some people, but... no, we have to make that equal(ly bland) too.

The biggest issue with diversity is that the word was introduced… and not explained. Thank you for framing the word and providing a sensible, real life definition – and I will be forwarding this to some folks I know. Again, thank you.
  • How do I get hired by you Simon. I would love to take up the challenge of being hired to do what I don't know how to do

I always hade my issue with this glorified diversity of getting as many different nationalities and cultures together as you possibly can. My company prides itself with being "so diverse" and celebrating itself for having around 128 nations under one roof and so on and so forth. My experience with "diversity brings new ideas and perspectives" is that said diversity of cultures and nationalities brings tension, misunderstandings, distrust, anger and frustration into the workplace way more often then it brings all the glorious things that it is praised for.
  • 2:45: This is probably the first and only perception i heard in years of diversity that actually made sense. Unfortunately in many cases diversity management is only inverse discrimination - for example hiring a less capable person for a position instead of a more capable one BECAUSE of some quota for sex/age/ethnicity or people with special needs. Of course a persons value to a team is to some extent determined if he has complementary skills, views and experiences to the people present. But as soon as you make this dependent from their sex/age/ethnicity you are doing identity politics. You are no longer seeing the person - only their quota attribute. You are discriminating while trying to fight discrimination.

Not included in this Inclusion initiative are people who have different opinions from those who are included. In other words, Inclusion is bogus.
  • Old white men - 1 perspective - so they think the same because they belong to the same group? This is the ideology - that I can judge your thoughts, your beliefs, based on the group you belong too. What an abhorrent ideology. But of course there must be a shared set of values. Hurray for diversity in classifying and dividing people into groups, and uniformity of values to which all must conform. Yes, you need your diversity and inclusion program to make sure everyone is kept in line. No contrarians allowed.
  • I used to feel included in many places, felt like people around me valued intention of words rather than the words themselves. Now, thanks to "diversity" and "inclusion" i feel excluded because everything that used to be a shared bonded experience between multicultural people (because i am peruvian and we are all mix raced down here) are now censored and attacked. Even terms of endearment and brands that brought pride to us are now being censored because they dont fit the current diversity movement nowadays... Cause apparently intention and context dont matter to the rest of the world... From my point of view, we sacrificed diversity in the name of diversity and we sacrificed the inclusion of some in favor of the inclusion of others... I am not saying one group deserves it better or that one is more valid, but if i am to respect their values amd points of view even tho i consider them a bit on the extreme side... Why cant my values and points of view be respected?

Sir ,what is tip to student who is strees about , one day of higher studies schulde ,but another day it just like blanck paper.
  • One argument against whole divetsity ideology - Nationalism brings us Lord of The Rings trilogy, diversity bring us Rings of Power
  • I don't think any sensible person can be against anything argued in this video. Where we get into sticky territory is when we talk about discriminating against people based on skin color, sex, religion, etc. for the sole reason of acquiring "different perspectives," such as by giving the position to someone who is less qualified or implementing a hiring quota.
