Today I'll replace the steering bar that got bend when I crashed last summer. My battery also went flat the last ride, so that needs to be swapped out for a new one as well.

    Three questions. Was the battery truly purchased from the USA? I would think, with the weight of a battery, it would be cost prohibitive. Second, why did the handle bars on the bike need to be changed? Were they bent? Third, do the fork boots help extend the life of the fork seals? I have never seen them used on a BMW telelever front fork. Fortunately, the oil inside is only used to lubricate and not dampen the fork travel. Nice to see these old GS's getting some youtube air time. Mine (1996) is approaching 100K miles, and has been my favorite bike to date. I dred the day I'm forced to move on to a "new" bike. Probably a low mileage R1150GSA.

    You didn't by accident switch polarity on that battery? Easy to be made mistake on those universaly to configure thingies...
