I have dry skin and live in an area that is dry year round so I've started using snail mucin after my moisturizer. That has helped to prevent my face and hands from drying out.
  • I used sanitizer to clean my hands while I was in the hospital. I was not allowed to get up without a nurse. So I got the sanitizer so I could clean my hands before I ate.

I live in the Canadian Arctic, so I know a thing or two about keeping my skin hydrated. Please note: I am not a doctor like Dr. Youn; I am just a 59 year old woman who gets called my hubby’s daughter enough to know I’m doing something correctly. 1. I use proper facial skin care every day - twice a day - and have since I was a teen, which is decades before we moved North. 2. Body moisturizers are not an option here. We have eight months of winter that can go as low as -61C in the 16 years I’ve lived here. In the two months of summer, the sun does not go down, and the temps are often around +30 mark. Although it is hot and SPF is no option either, it is still dry, so moisturizing is a necessity. I use a great lotion in the summer and crack out the body butter for the winter. 3. In the fast few years I have added a face oil to my nighttime routine, which seemed to be required once I went through menopause. 4. We have a humidifier that runs every day of the winter season (it’s no wimpy unit - it goes through two gallons of water every single day). Not only does my skin appreciate it, but the cat loves not being shocked every time she came close. I deliberately didn’t name any of the products that I use - although I can assure you that I only use clean skincare products - because we all have our own preferences, allergies, etc., and what works for me may not for you, but it gives you some ideas of categories of products to look at. The reason for this is I used a very famous and well established company’s skin care line for years. My sister, who shares what we thought were the same skin sensitivities as mine tried it, and it was a DISASTER! Her face became red and blotchy so we washed it off right away before anything else happened.

Dry brushing is sooo drying and bad for sensitive skin! Better use chemical exfoliator, urea moisturiser or just a gentle, clean washcloth in the shower

Dr. Can I use tretinoine creme 0,05 on my eyelids or will they get crepey? Please clear this up one’s and for all? Thank you
