Wildfire burns right next to 210 Freeway near Tujunga

The blaze was reported a little before 4:15 p.m. near eastbound lanes of the I-210 Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

I used to work in Sunland-Tujunga and it wasn't that rare for the hillsides near the 210 to be on fire. However, one time further down the 210, I was stopped in traffic on the onramp to the 118, looked out my driver's side window and saw flames right next to my car. Fortunately, they were still pretty low.

I was assigned to the La Tuna Fire in 2017. I responded from Modesto and arrived just before midnight. I found myself completely alone on the 210. It was entirely shut down.
