This might actually be THE BEST theory I've ever come up with. Check out how I explain the two different timelines in God of War: https://youtu.be/ROOqCCKrEtY

Its funny to think that odin could have gotten more knowledge and purpose if he traveled outside of the Norse realms.

One more thing that may add to your theory, When "Tyr" talks to Atreus, he says that the afterlife where laufey went to was guarded by forces and an entity far older than Odin.

Interesting theory. I do agree that Gram was the giant wolf, Hróðvitnir, but I think the Giants are the ones that stole Hróðvitnir's soul, not the Demiurge. Why do I think this? We must remember that Mimir called Hróðvitnir "a great nemesis of the Aesir gods." The only way the Aesir could Hróðvitnir at bay was to kidnap and imprison his pups, Skoll and Hati, which tells me that not even Thor, the slayer of Giants, was a match for the arch wolf. So, when the Giants decide to leave Midgard for Jotunheim, they probably asked Hróðvitnir to join them, but the wolf giant was having none of it and wanted to continue to be the bane of the Aesir. But the Giants couldn't let Hróðvitnir go because of his power to travel between realms. They probably feared that should Odin and Aesir capture Hróðvitnir, they could force him to open a path to Jotunhiem. So, they whispered Hróðvitnir's soul from his body; hoping that the wolf would be harmless like the soulless animals we see in Ironwood. But instead, they created Gram, a soulless beast that jeopardized the nine realms, if not all of reality. At least until Tyr trapped him in Helhiem. But one must ask why would Hróðvitnir want to continue to fight the Aesir if it jeopardized the safety of the Giants. The answer is simple: Revenge. I believe that Hróðvitnir was the loyal companion of Ymir, the primordial being of Norse Mythology. Together, using Hróðvitnir's power to open paths to over places, traveled in search of knowledge to help create a better pantheon. But then, Odin came along and killed Ymir; using his body to create Midgard. This could explain why Gram, whom I suspect was still Hróðvitnir at the time, ate a part of Midgard and the 5th season. It wasn't becasue he was very hungry, but to damage what Odin created and piss him off. Also, by being the loyal companion of Ymir, it also helps explain why the mask reacted Hróðvitnir, now Gram. Because the mask once belonged to Ymir, who used the mask to see into the rift and gain knowledge. All in an effort to be better then those that came before, only for Odin to mess things up. I will admit that there is little to no evidence to support this theory, but I was an idea I've had for a while and felt it was worth share. What do you think.

Fun fact in ancient Scandinavia there was 13 months and Nine days and 5 seasons (the reason for nine days if mentioned a few times such as Drupnir dropping 8 normal gold copies of itself on the ninth day). Probably where they got the idea that Garm ate the 5th season this leaving 12 months and 6 days in Old Norse (Viking age, and yes before the Vikings there was the Drengr, though if a Drengr does and doesn't go to Valhalla or Helheim he would come back as a Draugr, funny enough only magic or magical weapons plus fire can kill a Draugr...or lightning if you are Thör. Btw the first 6 days of the week are all Norse, Sunday or Sol's Day (Sol meaning sun), Monday or Manny's day (Manny being the Moon, so moon day aka Monday), Tuesday is Tyr's day, Wednesday is Wöden's day aka Odin's Day, Thursday is Thör's day, Friday is Frigg's day. Saturday is Taken by the Roman God of Time Saturn, so Saturn's day.

I thought the mask reacted because it was simply the correct coordinate of space, but the wrong realm, yet close enough in frequency for the mask to react anyway
-
Maybe Garm was originally Fenrir, but Fen’s soul was taken from his real body into that of a soulless wolf that was without a soul for so long it was doomed to die anyway. It would explain how Fenrir can so easily use Garm’s powers.

AbdBay : filling plot hole and connecting the dots santa monica studio: i dont think that far, but thanks for filling the hole

The Opening Music Goes Well With Young Kratos Bald Head🤣🤣💯

Once i heard how tyr let garm bite his arm off to trap him, i became convinced that what the mask responding too. tyr travelled the realms and was exposed the higher plain so the mask was pointing to the arm still in garms guts.

2:01 but angerboda never taught loki how to take a soul bc he did it to finrer before he even knew her. Right?
-
Cooking with kratos proved odin is still alive and has tricked us all!! @Cookingwithkratos what do u think of this video?
-
I defiantly believe Athena came to the Norse realms. If you fight all the travelers the lore says they were visited by a “blind visitor” that told them to explore the realms and they would be rewarded.
-
Garm had a soul tho didnt he? Bc angerbora says the animals didnt have a soul they couldn't eat so she had to remind them
-
Love you how manage to make the story of god of war that much more interesting
-
How come garm was active though. The other souless monster would just stand there, like a lamp or chair or something.
