My wife and I saw it yesterday. We were not disappointed. Stunning cinematography, and well cast. Episode one introduces the characters, and sets up for episode two.
  • I don't believe the negative word being said at all its a great movie.
  • Horizon was fantastic. I saw it last night and I am waiting to see part two
  • Half of the film felt like i had been dropped in on these people's lives of the time, and the other half felt like a john ford film
  • Saw it today. A must-see. Captured the essence of the real West. Can't wait for parts 2 and 3.

I watched it last night and loved it! We need to think that it is the first movie out of four (maybe five)….. Things will start to merge as movies are released. Can’t wait to watch second movie.
  • I completely agree. They should have separated the stories and made each of them independent movies. It was just too much jumping around. Not enough time to invest in all the characters/stories.

Loved it! No Wokeness. Just great, old-fashioned cinema - and a western to boot! Deserves better box office $$$.

I liked the haunting music and different characters. Yeah it felt like a John Ford western. You can bring a lot of friends and not worry about brutal violence.
  • @Doc_Holiday.
I thought the movie was amazing!! So raw and full of Grit. Definitely seeing part 2
  • Hollywood is not "looking for the next great western." Saying that shows a lack of understanding for the industry. Westerns are rarely made by Hollywood these days. Horizon was a passion project for Kevin for decades, and he couldn't get it made even while he was a big star. He eventually mortgaged his home to get it made.
  • I have seen it today. Absolutely loved it. Great movie with my favorite actor/ director, Kevin Costner. Finally, someone has the guts to make something original. We're really needed that, after the tons of ridiculous remakes. Look forward to seeing the next chapter!
  • Ok it makes a TON of sense now. I was not able to follow along on some of the story lines where the film was jumping back and forth, because I had no idea it's a 4 part saga. I was under the impression it was going to wrap up in 2 films. This makes way more sense in that this is going to spread out into 4 parts and this film is an Epilogue. The Introduction.

I cared about that little boy running away from the Native people and his journey. Hard to gett too involved emotionally at times. I hated many evil characters and liked the good guys. That's a sign of a good movie

I may go watch this great Western movie. Costner definitely is a great movie legend, so in my opinion, he is a great performer
  • Was it great no, but very good. 3 hrs went fast. Looking forward to part 2
