Preston, repeat after me... "I will never interrupt a David Gilmour solo ever again, I realise it's sacrilegious and just not acceptable". 😎

The way Eddie Van Halen put it into words is best way I've heard David Gilmour explained. "David Gilmour is the benchmark of less being more. He has proved that shredding and fast playing is not the benchmark of mastery level. Gilmour never wastes a note; he builds his solos like a painter; every note, every bend, every tonal inflection has merit...David's solos paint a picture in the minds of his listeners. Something that really is a testament of his talent as a guitar player"

Glimour's solo takes all of the pain, anguish, desperation and loneliness in the lyrics, ramps it up to 11 and then drives it like a stake through your soul. Absolute genius.

Gilmour should have won 10 grammys for this performance. Nothing short of incredible and absolute fantastic. Music just dont get better than this now days - PERIOD!!

Gilmour's guitar is not plugged into his amp, it's plugged right into his soul.
  • @Vulneravariable
His guitar solos are the story of life, fully understood without a word.

It was May 1994 in Raleigh, NC. David was playing this solo and then the lights hit that crystal ball that is as big as a house. The whole stadium was in a trance. All 60,000 plus people were slowly spinning into euphoria. This was the penultimate song that is only rivaled by High Hopes. I will never forget the experience.

So glad you finally watched this but just so you know, every time someone pauses a David Gilmour guitar solo a puppy dies.

“Hey what notes are you gonna play in your solo for Comfortably Numb?” Gilmour - “Yes”
  • @bevis1528
They have the best live performances I've ever seen. An artist that can sing on stage without the need of special voice enhancers has my loyalty.

Song gives me serious goosebumps EVERY SINGLE TIME I listen to it.

That man truly speaks with his guitar. One of a kind.

Rules for listening to Pink Floyd: 1- Do never interrupt David Guilmore's solo 2- If you did, rewind and keep away from the controlers

There's a huge difference between true artistry and commercial music of today! So sad there are few great bands out there nowadays 😪
  • @dslag654
'I'm ready for this man.' Me: No one is ever really ready for Pink Floyd.
  • @JamesAYT
"If Pink Floyd released an album that's literally just instrumentals, I'd buy it." The Endless River
  • @azja6666
Finally! One of greatest live performances of all time. And sure greatest guitar solo of all time. Imagine beeing there! Crazy!
  • @dexondilly
One of the few bands that never wastes a note
  • I consider myself very fortunate to have seen Pink Floyd live twice. Back in '88 when I graduated from college, and again in '94 for this, the Pulse tour. Mesmerizing experiences. To be able to see Mr. Gilmour play those epic solos live was... well, Preston, let me just say, I get the goose bumps thing.
