FYI we don’t really “kiss” your cheek honestly we just barely touch you cheek with the side using our cheek like it looks like we are kissing but not unless it’s an actual family member or friend

as a mexican i have to say not everyone greets with a kiss especially to strangers, it’s mostly common between your own family members to be greeted like that

Basically every country from latin like France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Belgium, Switzerland, even though England is not of latin but Germanic, it still does the kiss greeting.

It's not an actual kiss on the cheek but rather both of your cheeks pressing against each other while you do a kiss sound. Some weird people do kiss you on the cheek and it feels like a betrayal.

I used to hate this cuz my parents forced us to hug and kiss everyone cuz its the way people greet eachother in our culture but I always felt so uncomfortable

i went to Germany for a school exchange and I was so used to hugging everyone, I hugged my partners parents and like everyone else’s parents without knowing that it wasn’t normal for them so the parents called me the girl who hugs everyone 💀 anyways, I ended up feeling bad because I thought I was making them uncomfortable but by the last day, when I was walking away without hugging them, they basically said “where’s our hug” and that’s stuck with me since then 😢 i

I'm a Texan Hispanic and usually stick with hugs for non-family. Kisses on the cheek is for family members :)
