Guys, today it's been a year since I created the channel, and to celebrate I'm releasing a new version of Live at Pompeii, which is the 1974 theatrical version distributed to the American market. This new source was streamed on the ITsART website a few months ago, a one-off, for European viewers only, along with a documentary about the 50th anniversary of the recording sessions, featuring director Adrian Maben. Those who managed to record used a screen recording method and, as it was a live broadcast, there were some quality drops during the broadcast. In short, the quality isn't perfect (you may notice those quality drops and a blend/ghost motion effect) but it's the best source available so far for this epic movie. I had to split the movie track by track, as the entire movie has a worldwide copyright block, similar to what happens with The Wall movie. Use the playlist and I hope you like it. Thanks to everyone who supported the channel throughout this year, especially to the Patreon supporters. Enjoy! putting an ad before the guitar solo is a crime against humanity

Rick and David, when I'm stoned, this duo's voices make me feel like two angels came to save my soul

Never quite understood why Echoes, not so much Meddle the album but the cut, wasn't and isn't better known. Certainly at over 22 minutes it presented a bit of challenge to most radio station formats. But Echoes imo is the blue print of the Pink Floyd sound that ensued. A haunting yet harmonious poem set against a gentle background of David’s economy of guitar notes and Richard’s keyboard melody. At just the precise moment Roger and Nick tie it all together the way a florist uses baby’s breath in producing her bouquet of flowers

not gonna lie, when i visited Pompeii and finally got to the stadium where they did this, I was of course amazed to be in a place that people had built ~2000 years previous but I was just as jazzed to stand right where Floyd performed this. mind blowing on both fronts.

May be their personalities never quite meshed but musically they so perfectly compliment each other. Just see how superbly Waters and Mason work together.

9:24 i've been playing guitar for like 10 years but i haven't realize how much a powerful instrument it truly is until I saw that part, damn! these waves of distorsion emerging from the wall of amps, reverberating through the empty ruines are just... majestic.

If you come across this, please send your prayers and positive energy. I’ve been battling health issues for years.

this is probably my most favourite song by Pink Floyd I could be having the worst day ever and I'll listen to this and all of a sudden it feels like I'm floating

This is one of the best on location musical pieces ever recorded.
  • In 2015 I visited a Live in Pompeii exhibition organised by a couple of Italians in the town centre. I had a chat with one of them and he told me the story of when he and a couple of friends skipped school in 1971 and snuck into the amphitheatre during filming. If you look closely at the top left window at 9:26 and again at 9:53, you can see a couple of heads moving around and peeking out. Apparently the film crew were completely unaware anyone was watching.

Pink Floyd is an integral part of me, shine on.
  • @snikrepak
To be able to play in a place where for centuries peoples of different times sat on those steps, it just blows my mind.
  • Imagine being one of the sound-tech or camera guys. You just had the opportunity to witness this live, the Floyd before they became THE Floyd, just for you.
