More of these 'how to grows' please. They're great 😁
-
love it! gotta get more leeks in the garden

Before uprooting the young leeks for transplanting, give them a really good water. This will help you get them out of the ground a lot more gently, breaking less roots. 👍

I grew leeks last year from seed and although they're not massive they're really good! Made soup the other day, dug out some spuds, carrots and a leek, plus 1 parsnip (i literally had a few germinate!) and onions that I harvested last year. Bit of seasoning, turmeric and cumin and added lentils, was absolutely delicious 😋

I'm loving the grow guides for underloved plants like sunchokes and leeks! Making me have to rethink my garden expansion plans here! Maybe a bit bigger wouldn't hurt ;)

Like always, straight to the point, but also amazingly detailed. Everything is so thought-through, it's beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing

Thank you for this informational video! I live in Alaska, and just found out I can grow leeks here (no overwintering). I’m so excited for summer now!

I had some of the most beautiful, and most delicious Leeks last year, and I left a few of them over the winter so that I can enjoy their blooms this year.

I've always struggled with leeks, this will be my year for a bumper harvest 👍 thanks Huw

I was so scared to start growing leeks from seeds. Thank you for providing such a precise guide. I’m going to give it a try this year thanks to you 🎉

Huw! This is exactly the kind of guides we need, seed to harvest :D Last year, I (as always) sowed way more seedlings than I needed. Rather than chugging the spare winter leek seedlings away (multisown in trays), I popped them in between my lettuce. At first they got quite 'squished', at several points over the summer I couldnt even see them much. I thought "oh well", but I was baffled by what happened after the lettuce was finished / started bolting around mid july. As I cleared it out, tiny leeks were still holding strong, and within a few weeks had caught up with my "proper main crop" leeks. I want to test this further in the coming years - maybe theres a potential here to get even more food?

Leeks, one of my faves ❤ tried to grow them last year without success. This short tutorial is very helpful, much appreciated 🙏

I love leeks, but had no luck with them last year. This gives me such good instruction! Thank you so much!

This is so timely! I’ve heard you and others gush about them so I am growing leeks multi sown in 6 cell trays. They’re coming along nicely and I’m going to experiment putting them under milk jugs, plastic tubs, and more to protect them from cold. My last frost date is April 15th so they’ll be in the cold a while.

Loving the growing guides Huw!

Thank you very much Hugh. I was only thinking a few days ago that I might like to try leeks this year and was a bit daunted by what I had read. You've just shown how easy they actually are, so thank you.

That was the perfect video Huw! All the information needed in a concise package. Would love to see more of these videos for different crops. Thanks
