Post hurricane shelling is normally something I get really excited about. I watch the storm and try to figure out which beach I'll hit. Well, this hurricane had me running for Orlando, and once it hit I really had no desire to go to the beach. My heart was too broken to do anything other than clean up and try to help my neighbors.
I have called the county and will be attending a meeting regarding tourism next month and I have signed up to be notified when the county will start cleaning the beach. I am looking to perhaps sponsor a portion of the beach and help clean up.

  • I think I got the junonia you were looking for. It was near the water on Wednesday afternoon. Kind of bittersweet after losing 2 cars in a flooded garage. I also wanted to support our shelling tour boats and needed to recharge after massive cleanup. Thank you to all of your supporters for their prayers and kind words. It really means a lot to those of us who call SW Florida home.
  • So glad to hear you voice leading us along on a beach treasure hunt 😊. We are praying for you all

The hardest part after any disaster is doing something normal. Good that you’re supporting local folks. It is heartbreaking. But, as you say, life goes on, seeing the little birds is proof of that. Kice, as always, gives so much. Big hugs, stay safe x
  • Hello friend. I'm so glad your doing video's again. My heart is still breaking also for all the families that were in the path of Hurricane Ian and for all the flood victims.
  • Can’t tell you how wonderful it is to have you back out shelling and bringing back life to us again especially what you gave to the tour guide people ❤
  • All I can say is, “Sigh!” Thank you for going out and doing what you do. A great respite for the sadness around us. There are many neighborhoods here in the Port Orange/ New Smyrna/ Daytona Beach area still dealing with flooded homes and displaced families. Thanking God for the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Finding the beauty.

  • Charmin, this was totally unexpected and beautiful! Your thoughts on helping by supporting local businesses that have survived is 100% understandable! I'm very grateful that you are being so honest and real in your videos. I will continue to keep you all in our thoughts and prayers 🙏 . Nature is so amazing !
  • Thank you so much for the updates and now I'm glad to see you back on the beach! It is heartbreaking to see and think about the past few weeks in SW Florida but if everyone is as resilient and giving as you are then I know you will all be back as strong as ever. You are an inspiration to anyone who is facing challenges right now, in SW Florida and everywhere else. Thank you again for taking us on your wonderful, educational excursions and I'm so happy that you and your family made it through the hurricane OK.
  • That was very moving and I believe you are so right about getting out and doing "normal" things after such devastation, there are so many benefits for everyone in those simple actions. I'm sure many of us are interested in any information you are able to share with us regarding tourism, so that we too can visit and support those local businesses. As far as this tour to Kice, wow that was a lot of Pen shells. As always you got a fabulous haul and my favorite was the True Tulip, until you picked up the Rose Murex. Remember to take care of yourself as you reach out to help your community rebuild and know that you are all in the thoughts and prayers of people from around the world.
  • I was in FL one week after the hurricane and had originally planned to travel down to the islands in the SW but my family and I felt we didn’t belong down there so soon with all of the rescue efforts and people trying to navigate through the devastation — we didn’t want to use any of the resources down there and take away from the locals who are trying to recover💔our hearts and prayers go out to all of you…..will visit again soon 🌴
  • Also, we want to continue to support your channel as well. We are not going to forget all the folks in SW Florida who's lives have been affected. Sending many 🙏 prayers to all.
  • I was so happy to see you out shelling again Sharmon, but the pain was heard in your voice for the people that are still suffering so badly down in Florida. We haven’t forgotten you guys.
  • So good to see you back shelling! Prayers for all who were affected by Ian and struggling to get back...
  • I am 71 and disabled but years ago, some of my happiest memories came from picking up shells on the Outer Banks. Watching your videos makes me happy and I'm glad I found your channel.
  • Hi Sharmon! So glad you are doing what you can to support the local business. So happy to see you shelling again, doing what makes you happy and all us viewers too ! All those georgeous Kice shells. Such a blessing to have you do this every week for those of us who truly love shelling but can't be there. Love all those florida fighting conchs, beautiful colors. And the alphabets, awesome! Can't wait to be back down and take a tour with these guys!

It was so nice to see you out on the beach, and especially supporting your local shell businesses. During really difficult times it's sometimes hard to know how to be helpful. You have the right idea by supporting as many local businesses as you can. They really need folks like you, the locals and the visitors to keep them going. And I just have to mentions the fighting conchs... oh those beautiful patterns!!
