China is known for its tendency to duplicate innovations made by others. Pictures of what seems to be a drone weapon closely resembling Iran's Shahed 136 have surfaced on social media, leading to extensive discussions about where it might be headed. According to Defense Express, China seems to have crafted its own iteration of Iran's renowned HESA Shahed 136 drone, known as the "Sunflower 200". This drone is purportedly of exceptional quality and bears a striking resemblance to the original Iranian model. Its debut at China's Army-2023 exhibition has sparked worries about the spread of such drone technology.

Iranian drone is an excellent design. It would be stupid to not copy and even improve the design. Cheap, potent and reliable.
  • A year ago people were scrambling for Turkish drones, now the Iranian Shahed and Russian Lancet are all le rage

I am from Iran, and I approve of China using our design to make and improve the Shahed Drone. And I love the the name "Sun Flower" . Glory to China and Russia from Iran

The reason why this drone is also great is because the missile used to shoot it down may cost more than the drone itself, so at the minimum you are making your opponent use up more resources even if they can defend against it.

I can tell you that despite decades of sanctions, Iran has become very powerful from a military point of view. The important point is that it makes most of its own weapons and is not dependen
  • @aryansaei2088
I never thought that iran can produce such an effective weapon some day

Kamikaze drones is now more famous than combat drones.

you have misunderstood. It is just an unofficial trade fair. Any private seller or buyer can display it and it does not include China's official military factories. This low-end model of drone is no more than manufacturing children's toys in China. My nephew made something similar to Shahed 136 for his summer science homework. Control servos, communication modules, and simple flight control software can all be purchased at very low prices on Taobao, then print a PCB and assemble it with a soldering iron under my guidance. . . In the face of the super supply chain, high-tech things that appear to Iran are as easy as buying potato chips in China , so much so that they can do it in their rural backyards and Organize production. Chinese military looks down on these gadgets and has no intention of large-scale production. However, the Chinese government is indeed happy to see private companies producing these gadgets and exporting them to Russia, yes! The general export of small commodities for civilian use, unrelated to CCP, is simply perfect, and the international community can't even find a reason for sanctions.

Nothing wrong with copying, it's how you advance, you build upon existing tech and improve it "never reinvent the wheel"
  • I’m honestly convinced that china named it the “Sunflower” to spite Ukraine.

In addition to China, Russia has also copied the Iranian Shahed-136 kamikaze drone, recently inventing the Geran-2 kamikaze drone and the even more modern KYB kamikaze drone. But we must not forget that Iran has also modernized the Shahed-136 by equipping it with a turbojet instead of a piston MD550. Now, it no longer buzzes like a scooter, Iran has also produced the Shahed-238 kamikaze drone, much more modern, silent and powerful than the Shahed-136. Iran also produced the Arash-2 kamikaze drone.

That tip modification is very interesting. If it has a camera and a remote guidance capability, then the drone can actually be retargeted in flight beyond just Beitou guidence. This can become more like a long range, large warhead version of the Lancet.
  • @gabrielesposti
that drone in high scale production from Chine its unstoppable. Just like one drone per second.
  • @bigtoad45
And they will make a million of them.

Bro, i got to say. Many do underestimate China a lot. Think about it. China is the birth place of DJI, the world undoubted No.1 on drones design and production. China must've created tons of different military design. Look on youtube for the Barrage Swarm Drone Laucher. It is by far the most dominating drone-related weapon so far. and yet China is doing tons more when come up with anti-Drones.

Made in China. Cheap, efficient and effective.
