Deism is the one religious view I do not have many problems with...

That said; why?

@connerjd, so how else do you determine "truth"? Intuition, emotion, etc?
  • @TheNeognostic
@GnosticAtheist I only use the word sentient to state something capable of self-enquiry. It is not meant to be self-centered. How would you describe the ability of self-enquiry instead?

@BaileyNick98 Very interesting, thanks for your input. On the side, if you ever have the time could you explain your understanding of the term "love"?
  • @GnosticAtheist
@BaileyNick98 Oh? Many self-proclaimed deists do not believe in a heaven, sort of like a more jewish/eastern perceptive. Could you explain what you mean by heaven, if you have any opinion about it?
  • @GnosticAtheist
@TheNeognostic Agreed, do you find interest in the term pneumatic?
  • @GnosticAtheist
Well, could you explain what you put into the term universalist in a short comment?
  • @GnosticAtheist
@cris750 Yes, that is the point. If I can accept the question, I can begin to answer it. What is the question?

@SebSherlock Thank you for honest answers, I will reply per mail.

@GnosticAtheist 2: (Note that I am talking broadly, specifics mismatch)

@QuantumKoala Yeah I'll agree with that. But part of the reason I mentioned the concept of infinity is because you face the same problem when talking of an intelligent creative force at work. Because in order to concede that this must have been the case, you must also be prepared to concede that some other force made that force. And that never ends. It's an infinite recursion I believe its called? And that hardly solves anything, does it? So I think I'll stick to saying "i dont know", for now.

@TheNeognostic At the moment I am unable to. I am uncertain as to how and what, if it is illusionary, if it is nothing more then any animal looking into a reflection. What I am saying is that I have issues with my own perceived ability to perceive my own thinking. I am working on it, but I use the term sentient, although with a paranoid twist to it. :)

I am a deist. I've never felt so free in my life. The second I told myself that I was a deist and the Christian God didn't exist I was happy. Yet, my parents still force me to go to church. -_-
  • I saw the first 40 seconds of this just years ago, and it made me piss myself. I revisit it, and it just doesn't get old xD

To clarify; I fail to see specific absolute order. I see order, but it seems to come about due to temporal activity. I do not see any need for a specific pre ordained order before the universe.

@cris750 The term gnostic/agnostic is used in secular science of religion to identify the position on knowledge needed to define an individuals grasp of the terms in question. Wikipedia has some articles on the subject that can be read for a broader understanding under the title "agnostic atheism", but keep in mind that the terms is used more deductive in many cases. The term moral/amoral is an interesting comparison, but not directly how the terms are used.

Hihi. Your name, by the way, seems to be Czeck poetic, or something like that. Am I correct?

When I say "universe", I mean existence. Energy is not created, it changes form and position. What was before the big bang and after, can easily be another cycle of energy. Because it cannot dissipate into oblivion, only alter. The big crunch theory is only one option.
