Deism is the one religious view I do not have many problems with...

That said; why?

@cris750 Yes, that is the point. If I can accept the question, I can begin to answer it. What is the question?

@QuantumKoala Yeah I'll agree with that. But part of the reason I mentioned the concept of infinity is because you face the same problem when talking of an intelligent creative force at work. Because in order to concede that this must have been the case, you must also be prepared to concede that some other force made that force. And that never ends. It's an infinite recursion I believe its called? And that hardly solves anything, does it? So I think I'll stick to saying "i dont know", for now.

@GnosticAtheist I only use the word sentient to state something capable of self-enquiry. It is not meant to be self-centered. How would you describe the ability of self-enquiry instead?
  • @Frelsun1234
@connerjd, so how else do you determine "truth"? Intuition, emotion, etc?
  • @GnosticAtheist
@BaileyNick98 Oh? Many self-proclaimed deists do not believe in a heaven, sort of like a more jewish/eastern perceptive. Could you explain what you mean by heaven, if you have any opinion about it?

With comments like these I just have one question; did you watch it all or only the first few seconds? ;)
  • @linkfan22
I am a deist. I've never felt so free in my life. The second I told myself that I was a deist and the Christian God didn't exist I was happy. Yet, my parents still force me to go to church. -_-
  • @GnosticAtheist
Well, could you explain what you put into the term universalist in a short comment?
  • @GnosticAtheist
@TheNeognostic At the moment I am unable to. I am uncertain as to how and what, if it is illusionary, if it is nothing more then any animal looking into a reflection. What I am saying is that I have issues with my own perceived ability to perceive my own thinking. I am working on it, but I use the term sentient, although with a paranoid twist to it. :)

@GnosticAtheist 2: (Note that I am talking broadly, specifics mismatch)

@SebSherlock Thank you for honest answers, I will reply per mail.

@BaileyNick98 Very interesting, thanks for your input. On the side, if you ever have the time could you explain your understanding of the term "love"?
  • @GnosticAtheist
@TheNeognostic Agreed, do you find interest in the term pneumatic?
  • @GnosticAtheist
When I was going to answer one of your posts, I accidentally clicked remove. I am sorry, and I also find youtubes positioning of the "remove" button annoying. I was just stating that I concur with all of your points except that I do not agree that we need to answer all questions, instead worry if thew question is wrongly formulated.
  • @achampag
kinda juicy questions... dont have much of an opinion on them...but would like to see how they'd answer
  • @GnosticAtheist
Well, I guess I would agree (to you quote, I am unsure what he said in context) to the statement; I am unsure if changing the fabric and tearing it apart is the same thing. ;)

Hey, was going to say - glad you made a full recovery. Happened to my buddy @ 38, took 3 years but now 100% back to normal. Peace.
