Although there have been some bumps along the way, it has been a dream come true. This week we visit beaches in Avola and Portopalo, enjoy a great truffle dinner and enjoy our first event in Palazzolo Acreide's ancient Greek theater.

Hi Beth and Brian, my name is Giovanni and I am a dual national of Sicily and Belgium and I live in Brussels. I saw your youtubes by chance. Now I look forward to them every week. I was surprised that US citizens are settling to live in Sicily, when in fact the opposite is more natural. I am originally from Modica and I go there quite often. What you are doing is good. Funny thing about carrube (don’t know how to spell it - see 7:50 minutes in). My Sicilian grandfather would pulverize a small amount and add it to the wine we made in the fall each year. It gave the wine a very distinctive flavor. We made homemade wine until he passed. Even as a child growing up in New York City I was allowed to drink wine with dinner. How I miss those days. Thank you for sharing your videos from Sicily. Love them. Ciao,
