What's worse imo is when you recommend a show to someone, they actively say "Nah, I'm not watching this garbage." and then they binge all 32 hours of it in two days because it hits the mainstream. This video touches on another thing that I genuinely think is worse: people acting like "mid" is a bigger insult than "trash". Why do we think like this? I like plenty of things that I thought were like 6 or 7 out of 10. But I've had people insult me for liking things that are "mid", like it's only acceptable to consume things that are the best of the best. Why don't we all get more comfortable with acknowledging the flaws of the things we like, while still liking them? 6 out of 10 is a positive rating.
