My Response To An Allegation About My Nephew's Passing

I feel what Ricky’s is saying! I have put my own biological daughter out for choices and decisions she was making that could have jeopardized not only her life but the entire family! I’m praising and thanking the Lord she changed her ways and got back on track!!!

She has a deep resentment for Rickey. She needs to deal with how she feels. Social media is not the place for healing in life or death.

Sounds to me like Ricky was trying to shine a light on a young man that was in a dark place.

If he committed suicide over a hair cut there was other deeper issues.

Ron was a good friend of mine, I am just learning of his death and I feel like a bad friend for not answering his calls. He definitely was trying to change his life, this hurts because he pitched so many business ideas to me, and I didn't take it serious. I had no idea he was battling something. I met Ron in College at Miles in 2005. We kept in touch after college. My condolences 🙏🏾

We have got to start allowing grown folks to be accountable for their decisions. If the possibility of a hair cut triggered your brother, then he obviously had bigger issues.

Baby if a haircut triggered your brother he had bigger issues. I know it hurts but you can’t blame anyone in this situation.

I was a single mom that raised a girl and 2 boys. I was hard on them for good reasons but was a good mother to them. Made some mistakes along the way from simply not having knowledge of, but still was a good mom and my now grown kids do not hesitate to say that. Certain things I did NOT allow my boys to do as young teens or young men. I kept them with clean haircuts and decent clothes/appearance.....and NO sagging jeans or pants. I did not allow backpacks if not during school hours/days, and I didn't allow bandanas and caps turned sideways on their heads, and i did NOT allow nor did i play any kind of negative disrespectful rap music in our home or car. I sent them to school and made them go when they acted lazy about it! They were taught to be themselves and not try to be like others, but I also instilled in them the importance of respect, dignity, & character not only of themselves but for others. It wasn't easy raising them because of all the challenges kids face growing up, but we did it, as a family! They are grown now, in their 20s....and one is a college graduate with a bachelor's degree & also graduated with honors in high school. He is working a good job. My other son just recently graduated from the US Marine basic training (MCRD)! I am very proud of them and proud of myself. More than anything, I'm grateful to God....who made it all possible!

A private affair, yet it's something that we all can benefit from... We all experience hurt and death. Hurt people hurt people. Although Rickey is a celebrity, he is a human being like all of us. Sometimes, social media is used to drag people and tell half truths. He has a right to defend himself. He did so, respectfully. This is bigger then hair. Depression and mental illness is real. I work in it. Black folk like myself and people of color have to accept that mental illness is real and normalize it. Don't be ashamed. God answers prayers but it may come in the form of a behavioral health specialist. It's okay, to not be okay. I promise there is help available with open arms.
