Zinger Wheelchair Review

2020-06-05に共有
Steph reviews her Zinger mobility device. It's a light-weight, foldable electric wheelchair from First Street which helps her keep moving through her multiple sclerosis.

Don't have use of both hands? Try their Zoomer chair.

It clearly handles my 240-lb frame well - provided that the ground it dry. Even a small amount of water can have your wheels spinning. Still, this is a cool device and I do recommend it.

  • Thank you for the review, I most definitely wouldn’t want my Stroke survivor Father getting one of these monstrosities, my Mom would freak out if she knew my Dad was gallivanting out on our bumpy streets, let alone our city’s sidewalks that are more cracked than the Sahara in the Summer sun. I appreciate you taking the time explaining things that can go writ with it, like going uphill, using both arms to operate it, having to spend more money to upkeep the tires, no shopping basket. It’s good to know all of this things beforehand 👍👍
  • Super informative review!! I need to use one to get around the home. I don't go out that often.Thank you.❤️
  • 3 Stars. Loved at first, meh now. I have multiple sclerosis and my walking continues to deteriorate. When I initially received my Zinger in 2019, I was quite pleased with it. I still love the two-handed driving, it's super zippy and fun to drive- though it does make carrying objects a challenge. A cup holder is a must - I found one that I liked a lot on Amazon. I no longer drive a car and I've never had an Uber driver take issue with loading it in their trunk. But it is practically useless when the ground is wet. The spin mechanism works on friction rather than actually turning the wheels so when it gets wet, you can just sit and spin. This is true if you have brand new wheels as I've bought a number of replacements. The breaking can be questionable on steep hills, and you really run through the battery fast if you are driving on carpet. Just last month I got stuck in a Vegas conference for 45 minutes after my battery died in the middle of the day (after fully charging all night). I absolutely hate that it beeps when I go in reverse. The beep is loud AF and completely unnecessary. After a bit more than two years of part-time use, I'm ready to shop for a new device. It worked out to a little less than $100 a month, and it was totally worth that - especially since I no longer have a car payment. But moving forward, something with better, larger rear wheels and more power will be needed. The Zinger is great for running errands, going to the doctor, going to the mall/market, and even for traveling, but I don't find it to be the right solution for day-to-day use. Oh, and the suspension is now a little loose and pulls slightly to the left.

Thank you for your review. It was very informative. Take care.
  • Are you still using a Zoomer and would you still recommend it?
  • @gregzeng
YouTube feed this to me, based on my interests, here in the Australian Capital Territory. My YouTube channel should be ready with more similar material, one day.
  • Are you still using your Zoomer? Is it lasting ok? Would you still recommend?
