FYI there are some FAQs in the vid description (e.g. tent, hammock, stick stove). This is the full 22-day trip and by far the longest vid we've ever posted. It's broken up into 3 movie-length chapters or ~10-minute days in the playback bar/video description so you can break it up any way you like. I know some of you prefer multi-part...I prefer to binge and get lost in the content and feel like I experienced it. (And episodic content generally performs worse than single long format on YT.) Anyway, hope you enjoy :) Nancy Scott's book on Nipigon (the one referenced in the vid) is linked here along with all my book recommendations: amzn.to/46i2Kyx

I've been a fan for well over 40 years now, since you were sub 1 subscribers. Before "Lost Lakes", Before "Backcountry Angling Ontario" Back when you were simply "TroutSlayer420" To say that I'm excited for this is an understatement

I love, that in the era of 30 second reels and TikTok, you can pull people like me in with a three hour video. Trust yourself, you’re heading in the right direction.
  • Actual conversation in my house. Me: “How about a movie night kids? Is there anything on Netflix, Disney+, or Prime that we could all watch?”. My 12 yo son: “Lost Lakes has a new video out, can we watch that?”. Result: unanimous family decision to spend the next three nights watching, learning, laughing, and being inspired! Thank you Jon and Erin and congratulations on your wedding! Sincerely, Steve and the kids
  • The cinematic shots, the music, the slight bits of narration just make this video so so good. I truly felt at peace watching this video. Thank you for this masterpiece of a video!
  • I’ve been yearning for a Lost Lakes video, and what you’ve given us is beyond compare. It may not be intentional but you’ve developed a distinctive brand in the world of wilderness adventure videos, characterized by quality, integrity, superb cinematography, extraordinary attention to details, humour, and a quietly powerful voice. Your music choices are perfect mood enhancers. Truly, this was equal to the best feature films, and I didn’t want it to end. I smiled, gasped in awe, and wept with joy and emotion during the caribou sequence. You and Erin are delightful together and I wish you a happy wedding and a wonder-filled life. Thank you so much for bringing us along with you. I’ll be watching this one again soon.
  • I binged it! Could not stop! You called it a masterpiece of a lake, I call this a masterpiece of a video! You two are a terrific team and I want to thank you for this journey. You did all the hard work while we all get to enjoy the sights and sounds. ❤❤❤
  • My wife and I throughly enjoyed this epic adventure. The video, audio, music, narration, history, geography, planning is simply amazing. Thank you for taking us with you! I’ve never seen anything like this on YouTube. To share God’s creation the way you do is a gift.
  • Thank You, for making this wonderful journey!!! I am 80, and not very mobile, however; Thank to you...I am able to experiencea very close adventure! I appreciate; your periods of silences; they allow me to share the Breath-taking moments of the Mitacles, along the way! Best wishes, on your wedding and years as a married Couple!! Your gift, of a Down Feather, touched m heart, too,
  • I'm out of words expressing my feelings about this film . Lets agree everyone that this is a masterpiece no one has ever achieved on a YouTube channel
  • @aaronp0324
These videos helped my depression over last winter. I just wish i could smell that Canadian air. Beautiful work! Thanks!❤
  • @vresor
4 hours? That’s at least three times as long as any YouTube video I’ve watched. Worth every second! Amazing story, outstanding videography. Strong effort by both of you. Very inspiring. Thank you!
  • @willw4541
After watching all 3h50m there are 3 things I'd like to say. 1, you two are a delightful couple, and absolutely badass adventurers. 2. I am grateful you shared this trip of a lifetime so I could enjoy lake Nipigon with you. It was on my bucket list for years, but surviving lung cancer has crossed out some things on the list for me. 3. When I am up that way craving sweets, I recommend the Serendipity Cafe in Rossport. They make the best cheesecake you may ever experience in your life. And the serving is so huge, it is easily enough to share a slice. Thank you for the couch adventure. ❤

I have so many comments but all I can manage to say is The Photography in this video is beyond good. Like, wow. That underwater shot of the pike!! And the Sunset and the drone and I am only 40 minutes in. Wow.
  • I don't know that I will ever watch another wilderness adventure video as amazing as this one! So grateful to have watched this magical ride on the Mother of the Great lakes.
  • @EmilyVidd
It's a privilege to watch! Thank you! My only hope is lakes like this remain lost and only navigated by experienced people like you, who have earned your place in the wilderness. So special!
  • @jdkc21
I'm not sure how I even started watching this video, but I just watched the entire thing in one sitting. It is now 4am. What a hypnotic, mesmerizing adventure. ❤ thanks for posting !
  • @nicibaughman
Im a kayaker from Vancouver Island. You make Canadians proud!! 🇨🇦🇨🇦 Beautiful cinematography, excellent editing, pacing and storytelling. This film should be nominated for an award....just exceptional!
  • We have to say that you are BY FAR the VERY BEST at making videos of this nature. The quality, the steady filming, the editing is so WELL DONE. We have been watching the videos for some time now and have come to realize that you are GREAT at this. We always like your pairing up with Xander, but you are also quite fortunate to have your fiance taking these adventurous trips along with you. She seems quite capable at sharing these trips. We watched the ENTIRE video while having a few beers and had a great evening doing so. Thanks for posting this CLASSIC. We also hope you can get out again some time with your Dad. Those were well done as well. Here's hoping the knee is mending well.
  • Wow....that was amazing...thank you! As I sit here in Southwestern Ontario, in my big city house with my big city job, and struggling with nasty COVID symptoms, this reminds me how big and beautiful this province is. I was born and raised on Lake Huron and can hardly wait to get back to that life. Subscribed!
