Do not ever touch doors or open them like unless you know what you are doing, you could have broken the elevator even more. Get assistance instead of doing that again, you're lucky you didn't break the elevator even more than it already was.

I like how she was blaming the kids that they were treating it like a toy when clearly it was a malfunction with the door and was poorly maintained. Actually, it’s a McDonalds, a place that’s clearly not a goto for elevator maintenance.

I worked at a single storey McDonalds and remember as part of my induction having to do a section about how to use the goods lift safely!

They where probably jumping inside which made the elevator think it was malfunctioning. Don’t let your kids jump inside of an elevator because it will get stuck

The proper way to open the door: 1. Be an experienced professional. 2. Go to the motor room and turn off power. 3. Use triangle key to open door.

When people say “elevators are not toys” idot annoys me quite a bit. I was told that a lot as a kid but as a kid I knew basic elevator courtesy and not to jump in them. There isn’t any harm in just taking them up and down a few times, normally while not trying to break it. If it does break when you are being super sensible then really it’s the elevators fault not yours
