  • These full broadcasts of old hbo boxing cards need to be preserved for future generations. We had it so good

as someone born in 91', i love these type of videos with the pre fight build up to really capture the moment in time that i wasnt around for.

47:52 “Tyson still has to be careful because Larry…OH!” 🤣

At least once a week I have to watch Tyson highlights. So addictive.

Holmes had incredible boxing defense. He blocked all Tyson's punches with his face.
  • Man I love boxing from back then. I was such a spoiled kid getting to watch these matches back then.

I was 3 years old when this happened. I'd give anything to watch each Tyson fight in his prime. There will never be any one else like him
  • best quote ever "the easy part about being a fighter is the fights" -mike tyson
  • Mike studied the old fighters, he had an old school trainer and extreme talent. This is what made him so good, so feared by age 21. That and the fact he was a freak of nature and a beast.

With all the lagging and skipping this video is really taking me back to the days of 80s cable TV.

Much respect for Larry Holmes holding Tyson off for as long as he did.
  • I love. How Ali walks over shakes Holmes hand then goes to Mike "knock him out for me!" And that tyson doez!!!! CLASSIC!!!!
  • That shot of Tyson entering the ring with all the belts draped over his shoulders like some divine Pit bull is simply awesomeness!! 👊😎
  • 21 years old 5'11 215 lbs. 71" reach Let those numbers sink in. Mike Tyson was usually fighting guys much bigger than himself and knocking them out. His speed and movement back then was ridiculous, even for a smaller heavyweight. He truly was a specimen. Too bad he had shit people around him.
  • Thank you for putting up these classic fights!. Mike was like a machine back then .A pure wrecking machine .

Holmes was honestly in surprisingly good shape considering he'd been retired for 2 years and was already far past prime before retiring in any case. Had they paired him against a good contender he might have stood a chance. But instead they fed him to the beast.
  • I remember watching this back in 88 on ITV sport around 4 or 5am, I was around 8/9 years old and everytime I hear this opening music and a HBO presentation it gives me the chills, great memories and Tyson the King of the Ring

The body shot combo with an uppercut was Tyson’s favorite punch. I’ve been hit with a liver followed by an uppercut and trust me it will have you rethinking your whole life 😂
