This is when HBO was everything in boxing. Iron mike dedicating the fight to Cus was so monumental. 7 years from meeting Cus, Mike is the youngest heavy weight champ

WASNT even legally able to drink! Toughest teenager of all time NO DOUBT!
  • On this day, 36 years ago, Mike Tyson became the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, the youngest to ever do so at his best. He was one of the most physically, talented, heavy weights to ever exist. It is a shame that, in a lot of ways, he beat himself by not remaining fully dedicated to the sport of boxing.

Nobody was stopping Mike Tyson on that night!
  • One of the greatest intros to a big time fight of all time. I’ve watched it a hundred times and I still get chills and tears in my eyes.
  • @wavyamar
He was barely 20 only 4 months in could have been 19 lol jeez

I love that introduction showcasing our feelings for the savior of the heavyweight division. It fit perfectly. Mike Tyson - youngest heavyweight champion of all time.

Often overlooked is how charismatic Tyson was and still is. That's why he never was out of the news. I would say he equals Ali in that respect.
  • I used to see Trevor Berbick training at my gym all of the time when I was a Kid. I've had a few conversations with him. I can tell you he was 100 % bat shit crazy... R.I.P Trevor
  • as the years passed, and the longer Mike went w/o Cus he became more and more unstable. Cus lives 5 more years? Mike goes 49-0 within that 5 years. No prison, no unraveling. Just a pure boxing hero.

Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you’ve never seen a guy get knocked down three times from one punch. That shot to the temple actually looks a lot like the punch that ended Spinks’ night early, too.
  • there's people who are extremely fortunate to grow up watching JOE LOUIS, ROCKY MARCIANO, & MUHAMAD ALI whole careers . As for me, i was fortunate to grow up watching IRON MIKE TYSON's whole career., from the GOOD, THE GREAT, THE BAD & THE UGLY. I was 14 years old in 1985 when i first discovered TYSON, and i became an official FAN and watched his whole pro career from 1985, all the way to his last fight in 2005 . And it was an extremely EXCITING 20 year EXPERIENCE indeed

Man, tyson in his prime was something else.. his hand speed is incredible for a heavyweight
  • @Gjon777
I feel bad for Mike. If Cus would've lived another 10 year Mike wouldn't have had the issues he did.
  • Tyson made this man look weak but Trevor was a good fighter with good tools. Would be better than many top HW today.
