Here's a video of four of the five quad players from the 1996 UNT quad line drumming and discussing the quad break 14 years later. Disclaimer: The drumming is what we could remember & work up impromptu within 45 minutes after lunch after 14 years off. It's a miracle that the drums were the same brand and size, that's as detailed as we got. FUN! Also check out my other video where I break down the solo beat by beat as well as the clips of us rehearsing it back in `96 on my billbachman.net site.

  • @RockerBug17 Tuning issues? Yes, the fact that those drums hadn't been tuned by anybody at some random high school for about a month. This whole thing was a last minute flip camera inspired idea. Like I said in the description, it's a miracle that we even had four matching sets of quads that day. I think Anooj even had borrowed mallets; I'm not sure if he still owns any.

The guy in the middle looks familiar to me. Alumni 1992-96. Good times 1991-92 hanging out with the lab band, Graduated from the art department (school). I miss the people I hung out with, especially the lab band boys, LOL. They were very talented musicians. Traveled the world. Feeling nostalgic.

@qbachman Well regardless, it was a phenomenal performance and I really aspire to be as proficient in my drumming as you fine folks. Keep the vids coming!

I remember watching them at PASIC 1996... completely out of control good!!!!
  • @brooksamillions
Grew up with Scoggins... Best tenor player I've ever known.
  • Why didn't the one guy next to Bill say anything? Bill even introduced him.

Funny Bill mentions "immaculately tuned quads" back in 96, then they play on some horribly tuned quads. :) all in good fun!

Hey Bill, I'm a snare player moving to tenors; do you have any tips for someone like myself who wants to be as good as you?
