When people think of models they typically imagine a glamorous lifestyle spent traveling the world, wearing designer clothing and off course making tons of model. What they don't know is that it take a lot to become a model. There are strict requirements models must meet, sacrifices and time commitment that are demanded in order for models to have a successful career.
Is being a model worth it? In this video, Los Angeles based models Yebhe and Francis Polo explore the dark side of modeling. How much do models actually get paid? Is runway modeling better than commercial and editorial print work? How much do models pay to get their pictures taken and comp cards produced? What are the agencies fees? All these points and more are discussed in this video.

I’m definitely using modeling as a way to fund my schooling. I knew it was going to be difficult going to school and traveling to different places. It’s also a nice source of income to the other things I do. I’m more wanting to be a singer or maybe actress but modeling is fun for now.

If is your dream go for it. Be prepared. Have a portfolio. Have manners. Have an open ear for any constructive critiques. Eye contact great handshake great smile. Follow direction. Stay healthy. Have other ways to support yourself while modeling and take some classes in a field you are interested in.
