I too moved to Pattaya in 2006 at the age of 52. After 17 years here, it's still the best decision I ever made. I lost my home in Hurricane Katrina so I had nothing to pack!

I'm 29 years old and plan to take a few years off of work to enjoy the fruits of my labor. A few months back I stayed in Bangkok and Pattaya for 2 weeks and didn't want to go back to New York. The value is truly remarkable there. Not to mention, it's total paradise. Awesome to watch your videos.
  • Fair play to you man you are living the dream. I first went Thailand in 89 and I've been 40 times since then. I totally get why you are living there. I'll be doing the same in two years when I finish work. It's totally possible to live a brilliant life there on a budget. I've lived on and off there for 3 months at a time. You just control yourself which i find easy to do. Keep enjoying yourself and be happy
  • Thanks I have two children I bring up alone and have to wait so when I am 66 but I would love to do it before spent many a good time in Thailand I have traveled all over the county great you are living your dream

Hey Tom, Cindy here, Your friends in Minnesota miss you ! Big Island vous just isn't the same without you ! IT'S KINDA boring. We keep hoping to win the mega millions or the power ball. No such luck though 😢. Glad that you are enjoying your time there. It's really nice to see that you're HAPPY! You deserve it! Morey, Cindy and Hank miss you !

The military was a blessing. The happiest and most content I’ve ever been was when I could pack everything I owned in two duffle bags and a backpack. I could move out of my room completely in under 2-3 hours. I hope to revive that in retirement with two checked medium roller bags and a carry-on.

Thank you for confirming to me that I have made the best decision of my life to retire in Pattaya this August from broken Britain! Everything you say I know is true after spending 6 weeks there earlier in the year. Life is about quality and value🙏🏼

It’s all stuff !! You got that right Exchange your stuff for experiences 😉 It’s a big world and you only got a short time to explore and experience it ! Realize this !
  • Oh man the flipped background threw me off for awhile. :face-purple-crying::face-blue-smiling: Agree with all you said. Life there is good future neighbor!

Hey Tom. Thanks for the video. Some great advice. You’re so right! If we wait too long, we might miss the chance. Great view from your balcony. Looks like you’re in a great spot. I love how you renovated you’re condo too - saw it in another of your vids. With no rent or mortgage to pay, you’re in a really great position. Thanks again Tom 😊🤝

This video is spot on! I'm retiring in 2 weeks after 26 years in law enforcement. Ive watched many guys return after a year due to the high cost of insurance here in the USA. My wife and i are selling everything and headed to explore Thailand with just a suitcase each and find our forever home. Great video, thank you.
  • @williamchildress1
Great video and I agree with you! I arrived in Thailand from Texas in 2007, just a year after you did. My Thai wife and I lived in a condo in Pattaya for 1.5 years and now live on a farm in northeastern Thailand, near the Lao border. I've never looked back and absolutely love it here. Glad to see someone encouraging more "Westerners," to come to the Land of Smiles. :)

Pacific healthcare I believe is good in Thailand- Simon at land of smiles always used to recommend them ☺️🇬🇧
  • @evans1120
You’re absolutely right…I’m in the same position and need to unload all of this stuff soon. I’m 55 and delaying so I can deal with parents end of life. I’m planning on watching all your vids from the beginning!
  • @ArmyRetired
great channel - I am also a military retiree - just did a space A trip with family - went from SEATEC to Japan - then Japan to Singapore - flew commercial cheap to Bangkok - then commercial to Korea - and space A back home. I want to live in Bangkok - but it is cheaper in Pattaya. Please keep up the good work and crank out the videos!

I live already a long time in Thailand, every time I arranged my visa by my self and saved a lot of money. I am happy to spend a little time at immigration to make that amount of money. Money that I can spend on more fun things.
  • @martinpowell5769
Great info my friend, you are of course right about budget - if you want to be there enough, you will make it happen 🙏🇬🇧😊
