I really appreciate the honesty of French people. In Japan we're the least honest people on the planet.

As a Swiss who speak French and talk with a lot of French people, I would say that French people are really fast at having an opinion even with things they didn't knew before. But it's true that you can talk a lot about everything and they may change their mind. They are just normal people and generally kind hearted, good friends to have.

In French you don’t say something is good, you say it’s not bad. Could explain the complaining (non optimistic view of life)

This goes hand in hand with what the girl said about French people valuing honesty - I now absolutely believe her! ❤I just LOVED how honest and transparent they were about every single question. And the fact that they can do that while clearly loving their country at the same time - I really admire that! This was a great video with great people! ❤ Also, my favourite line: "Your neighbour will never look like Gabriel" 😂
  • I am not french but I am a french canadian who befriended a lot of french people in her life. And here it is what I have to say: -French people value honesty highly! This can explain the cheating cliché. Study have found that there is no more cheating in France than other western countries but when asked the question, french people would be more likely to admit it. They are just less hypocrite about it. -French people truly love to debate! They are very cultured people. As a french canadian, I prefer to converse with them. With other north americans, the conversation are often about houses, cars, weather and other things superficial. With them, you can discuss history, politics, society, etc. You can have very deep and philosophical conversations even with a stranger and that's amazing! They know how to argue and be intellectual. -The cliché I hate the most is the one that says: "French always surrender". Since they are my cousins, it triggers me a lot since part of their history is my own as well. Not only it is false (France actually has the most successful military history in the world) but it is also a huge disrespect to plenty of french soldiers who died for our freedom (the ones who fought during american revolution, the ones who battled at Verdun and the ones who protected british soldiers so they could escape at Dunkirk when they saw they couldn't defeat the Nazis). I wish people would be more educated about that. Besides that, plenty of love toward my mother country! <3
  • Sometimes people misunderstand french when they say they are complaining , most of the times they are trying to have a objective point of view of something and in order to do that you need to look at the cons and not only the pros
  • That shy French guy in the blue top was very articulate. I really appreciated the extra explanations. This was a great video. It was a pleasure to watch everyone.

I’m from Paris, born and raised, and yes parisians are rude, I think it’s a general atmosphere like, people are stressed out, they run everywhere because they are late, everyone is on edge. It’s actually very hard to live in the city. I’m a uni student so for me it’s kind nice to have a ton of things to do, a lots of people to meet everyday but I would love the city to be more welcoming and friendlier cause you can get depressed quite easily... Paris is like a mixing pot of a hundred different cultures that (try) to live together. I like to think people in Paris aren’t mean because it’s their personality because when you get to know them they are very nice, it’s just the atmosphere that makes everybody on edge. But if you come to France you should definitely come to Paris because the architecture, the culture, museums, theaters… are all very nice and must be seen at least once in your life, just enjoy the city and it’s beauty rather then the people ;) (don’t get scared we’re not all the same, just be warned that parisians are mostly not very welcoming) But of course don’t just go to Paris they are so many beautiful places in France to visit, cities but also landscapes, mountains, beaches, the see… And people are much nicer in other cities, I personally love the south of France where people are very welcoming, open and friendly ! (And the History isn’t only located in Paris) Anyway, to everyone wanting to visit France, I hope you have a wonderful time in our beautiful country !
  • Haha. As an Argentine, almost all these stereotypes apply to us as well. Within Latin America, Argentina has the reputation of being arrogant, cocky, egocentric, delusional, and obnoxiously proud, sometimes even racist with our Eurocentric superiority complex. But that is honestly the image that people from our capital Buenos Aires (porteños) have forever fed the rest of the world. I heard many people saying that Argentinians don't consider themselves Latin American, because back in my parents' generation, Argentinians would say that. But that was when we were predominantly a country of European immigration, and socioeconomically we were considered a first world country (that was a long time ago). But I can tell you these days, almost every Argentinian considers themselves Latin Americans. But yea, there is a big divide between people from the capital and people from the provinces, who are much more laid back and humble. The capital is just more chaotic, fast-paced, with people from all over the country and continent, that it is inevitable to not have this "cara de culo" attitude. It's almost like a defense mechanism. Even within Argentina, no one likes people from Buenos Aires, especially with the corrupt politicians living there. Also, we Argentines love to complain and debate. There is always a riot in the street causing traffic, whether it is teachers protesting for more wages, or wanting the current president out, and we can argue about politics, economy, football, history, abortion, gay rights, racism, etc. all day of the week, whether we are at a dinner table, at a park having some mate, at a cafe, at a parrilla with friends and family. Regarding the complaining part, I did hear from other Latin Americans, that Argentinians are among the most entitled and difficult to deal with costumers. Can't help it that our people are opinionated and direct
  • I would strongly advise foreigners to visit other cities than Paris like Toulouse, Strasbourg, Bordeaux. These cities are just wonderful and the people there are more friendly and authentic. One thing I like about french people is their humour, they make good jokes too.
  • @blessingtukura4511
"Your neighbor would never look like Gabriel" got me rolling. Sadly, i have come to discover it is true...😂😂. Never swallow hook, line and sinker movie protrayer of a place.
  • @MN-vz8qm
omg I love those 2 girls!! "-we want to speak english but we struggle to speak english - ... do we? ... do we want to speak english?" ^^
  • The thing with this whole cheating thing is self reported though. Places where adultery is illegal, I doubt people will admit. I do think the laws do make it lower but I still think people there cheat.
  • @HosseinNouri
nice people. we mostly love France and French people and French cars indeed ;)) btw, also French perfumes are excellent :) Greeting from Persia to you French people.
  • Not all French are rude. Those from northern France are friendly and hospitable. I have a French friend from Normandy who is really pleasant and open to have a chat with. When I told him about my disappointment about how rude the French were when I visited Paris, he said that he felt the same thing whenever he visited the city. Parisienne are rude and inhospitable, even towards fellow French from outside the city. Some of my friends who used to live in France also confirmed this, the French from the northern part of the country are friendlier and more hospitable from the rest of the country.
  • @JackHanma
I 100% agree with my fellow countrymen! Quite impressed by their honesty tbh But there's a Big difference between french mentality and parisians mentality... I'm parisian born but I married a woman from the North
