I think my perspective on Amand and Shannon changed multiple times during this discussion. Amanda was tough, then accepting. Shannon was confrontational, then understanding. They come from 2 different worlds, and its awesome when different worlds share the same orbit without colliding into each other.

Kids being taught to not speak up against adults is the main reason so many kids were molested and continued to be due to the fear of being molded to not speak up for themselves. I teach my daughter that you have the right to speak up for yourself as long as it’s done respectfully, even if it’s against me.

If she was 10 years old and was able to recognize the other kids were wrong for callimg her the N word, then the other 10 year olds should have the capability to understand that them saying the word was wrong and excuses shouldn't be made for them.
