Fun fact about Cannae; in terms of casualties per day, the number incurred by Hannibal would not be surpassed until the Battle of The Somme, in WW1. This means that in the odd 2100 years after Cannae, in the continent of Europe, no one managed to kill as many men in one day as Hannibal, and it would take inventions such as the machine-gun and the howitzer to inflict them.

Napoleon and Hannibal both being troubled by enemies that 'ran away' showcases how 'fight or flight' is truly valid. Both are good responses.

History class in high-school had me believe Roman's were vastly intelligent and the epicenter of an advanced civilization. These videos make me realize they were lunatics who never knew when to quit.
