Very wise words mate. Truly. Basic skills, minimise, field test. We still got our camp ovens, and a drum fie pit. Good on you mate. Well done. ππ π¦πΊπ¦πΊπ¦πΊπ¦πΊπ

What the heck was that thing that started the fire? Sounded like a jet engine.π³ I think it would be great defense weapon against zombies.ππ Good talk, Wayne. Thanks for sharing your wisdom with us. Blessings to you and Lynne. ππ ππ΄π

Made short quick work of that stump. Fridges aren't that much of a problem with solar, but a freezer will be the biggest challenge. Big battery bank yes, but more solar required. Yeah most definitely starting out on foot, basha, swag n hardship... Then as we get wise we all steer towards a camper van type of set up... comfort deffo wins and requires skill and thinking. Anyone can be cold n wet. Good wise words there Wayne. Will be good to see your progress. Have a good one, stay safe n well and have a ball folks.

πBahahahahahaπ You definitely win the 1 match challenge. Not what I was expectingπ I burnt a stump once and 3 days later it was still burning 10 feet away just under the surface. It was a first for me. Iβd also have a little wind turbine if I wasnβt in the city. Simplicity has long gone from camping for many compared to when I was growing up. I always take an Engel now so I save money on ice. The camper goes when my partner and or kids come. But my go to is a good rope and tarp, swag, bbq plate, saucepan, π©shovel, axe/bow saw and a headlamp. Iβll add a few extras depending on the location Iβm headingπΊπΊ

Great idea. We have a stump in the front yard that needs taken out. Have a great day Lynne and Wayne.

Yeah, you could've pulled that stump out with a tractor, but burning it was much more fun! π Good work, Wayne, please show us how the fire pit develops.
-
"...start a fire with one match..." hahahahaha. Brilliant stuff Wayne.

Nice one Wayne! Donβt get in the way of a man and his flame thrower ππ We love camping too and our kids have always loved it too!! Beat fun and nothing better than getting away from the rat raceβ¦β¦. Much love to you guys β€οΈπͺπ¦πΊ

If you get solar don't hard wire it into your house like people in the city have because when the electricity goes off, your solar panels are useless, they shut off, if they didn't then they would feed electricity back into the grid and if there is a pole down then workers wouldn't be able to work on the lines because they would be live, also you get nothing if you feed power back into the grid, get yourself a few panels and batteries and run your fridges and freezers with it, I know a bloke who lives in a house in the bush where to connect to the grid would cost tens of thousands, it was cheaper for him to buy solar panels and batteries and a small wind turbine, the wind turbines are great specially at night if it is blowing a gale and there is no Sun, but a separate solar / battery set up is the way to go.
