100% spot on, it is going to be a massive shock to the system for all those who refuse to take a knee to the beast, yet haven't done anything to prepare and adapt to the lifestyle that doesn't include all the "instant solutions" or "instant gratifications" of this "microwave meal lifestyle". Not that any of us are fully prepared, but at least some of us have taken some steps to getting through the coming hard times. Stay safe, God bless

I have got into preserving, or as the Americans call it, canning. I've been having so much fun and eating so much better. Canned savouries in 250ml jars and just grab some veggies from the garden. I only have a small freezer with my fridge so I have found a way to have food on hand. I have already canned my Xmas puddings and I have plenty of larger jars of savoury meals for when I have unexpected visitors. I am loving it.

So glad to see no fancy recipes used as frugal. All looks yummy!

Hello Lynn, thanks for sharing your recipes. You are right and that we need to be more frugal now than weβve ever been in the past. Take care and have a blessed week ahead my friend.

What a beautiful table and the meal is so healthy and delicious! That bread is making me Hongry! π I had to look up Feijoa, that looks amazing! Well done Lynne! Press on teaching and leading the people!

Hi Lynne! That apple and cinnamon loaf looks really delicious!! Might have to try that one.

Great ideas, Lynne. I've been hunting grocery specials and cheaper brands to stretch the dollar. Spuds and artichokes have been doing well here, both ntritious and calorie dense. Bok choy, salad herbs. And I've got to get back to making bread too! Best of wishes and God bless to you both. β€π

OH Hi Lynne I have really missed you & Wayne. Yes I think we all have to look at being Frugal- my Husband retired just recently so now he is doing all repairs etc around our house. My vegetable gardens are still amazing & saving us so much money (and the neighbors & family). Cheers Denise- Brisbane

Waving from up north in the state of drought and bushfires...π₯΄ frugal is often considered 'lacking', a modern spin on poverty, it isn't, it's using what you have in a carefully considered way and not maxing out a credit card on frivolous instant stuff. Great to see you Lynne (and Wayne) keeping up the way forward π»

It's so great to see you back in the kitchen, Lynne. ππ The dishes you made look yummy and perfect for our cooler weather. I've been doing a ton of canning. Last month was different meats and this month I did 3 kinds of apples, red & gold potatoes, red and black beans, and there's Split Pea & Ham soup in the canner right now. I'm praying that the Lord will watch over you and Wayne, bringing you good health, joy, and an abundant life. πGod bless, my sweet friends.π€πβ

G'day Lynne, Yeah definitely now is the time to be more frugal with rising food prices. As you know I don't buy meat I only hunt or raise it and that saves so much money. Pickled eggs are definitely a great way of saving and using eggs and they taste so good. God bless you guys.π¦π

Looks delicious. Itβs WONDERFUL to have you back to see you doing well.

Hello Ms. Lynn, good to see you and your cooking, It all looks delicious. I am going to have to save this so when I can eat food with a little spice again. I am currently having to eat a bland diet for the next 3 months per Dr's orders. TFS! Blessings to you my friend. βππΌπ

I too have simplified my menus. As I live alone, its just easier to do so. I have less variety of ingredients cluttering my fridge and then getting tossed when they expire. My brother is making a frittata for family dinner tonight; quiche is also good for using up eggs. Both take scraps or leftover veggies well. Your warm sweater is so pretty and frugal for saving on heat. π So lovely to see you this morning ππ

I will be trying that lamb casserole too, it's actually cold tonight, we have had the past 3 summers very cool as well, I watched a video and a woman was complaining how she spent $100 on food for her one child's school lunch for one week, she then blamed the supermarkets for the prices, people don't know know how to stretch a meal, people don't realize you can cook good food without spending much money and if you grow some of your own food even better, I like to add rice to stews which makes them go further, I deliberately planted more tomato seeds this year than I will need just so I have too many tomatoes which I will preserve in the Autumn

Iβm so happy when I see a new video of yβallβ¦ I loved the fence and gait build yβall did too

I really enjoy something called Zucchini Bites. It's a mix of scrambled eggs with crumbled bacon, shredded zucchini and shredded cheese, chopped onions, maybe a bit of garlic. Then you bake them in the smaller "cupcake" tins - each is about two bites worth, they freeze and reheat well, and are great as a snack, for breakfast, or as a side dish. The recipe is easy to find online.

The apple and cinnammon loaf would be my fave. Eggs are like gold, One a day will give you all the amino's you need. An omlette is a good way of going throught them. Nice job.
