THE DARKEST CRATER - Tenerife 4K Ultra HD

Publicado 2016-04-18
After a week of vacation in one of the most beautiful and dark places on Earth (Tenerife) and after a lot of time outside taking stills and time-lapse sequences, I am happy to share a little bit of this astrophotography and nature heaven with you guys.
I highly recommend to visit this place and especially hike up El Teide, the famous volcano, peaking at 3780m, at night or even during the day. The atmosphere there is really special, lunar even, and I was eventually able to experience the night sky lighting up the ground for the first time! I had never seen the milky way (especially its core) so bright! Indeed Tenerife benefits from it's low latitude, exceptionally dark skies (polluted by maybe a few towns), low air pollution and dry conditions year round. I had to bump my ISO to 6400 many times, even at f/2.0!
I hope you enjoy this little time-lapse of Tenerife as much as I enjoyed staying there and hope you consider a vacate there if you are an astrophotography/nightsky freak!

All shots taken with Sony alpha 7r2 and canon EOS 70D.

You are welcome to like/share and subscribe if you like it! Stay tuned for more exciting videos :)

Thank you Night Lights for confirming once again that 'The Heavens declare the glory of God, day unto day and night unto night' (From Psalm 19). He is Risen, and He is Lord of all.

This is so beautiful that I cannot find any word to describe. I am so excited now because I have booked the tickets to Teide after one month. Amazing you gave this video to me. Would you mind sharing the exact place or ways to get there to shoot the milky and stars. Thank you so much.

awesome! have you ever considered making some kind of mini vlogs about your "milky way missions" or whatever?
  • Hi Adrien! First of all, great job! Amazing timelapses and great composition in every shot. As I'm going to Tenerife this summer (from the 1st to the 8th of August) I wanted to ask you some questions: 1) are there places above the clouds accessible via car, without having to walk too much to get there? 2)do you have some suggestion of places to go to get less light pollution and maybe a clear sky? 3) was the milkyway that visible at sea level?!?! Again, great job, keep it up!
