All old mercedes diesel engines sounds like Multicar its just fine if you block EGR valve this motor will run 1.5 mil km with proper oil managemant.

Hello, I have 344888 KM, I have the same engine sound, look at my channel, when I had it listened to the mechanics, they said that the engine is running as it should, that it could be some kind of crap so that I don't deal with it and drive, the engine runs great, then I have another ML 270 with 230,000 miles on it and it runs exactly the same, the knocking is not there, it also pisses me off, but I still don't know where it could be.
