  • Bank Of America, Chase, and Wells Fargo are the worst banks for anyone to bank with.

Moral of the story don’t bank at a corporation
  • I have worked in a bank for over 20 years and know that damaged bills can be accepted and sent back to the Federal Reserve Bank. Bank of America knows this but refuses to help out their own bank customer. SHAME ON BANK OF AMERICA!

Even if they were damaged theres a government service that can replace your money, especially if its irreversibly damaged in some way

Yet another story where a bank won't do the right thing until the TV news gets involved and then suddenly.... wella.....they do the right thing.

I've had a similar issue with Wells Fargo refusing to exchange a torn bill. I had about 90% of the bill still intact and it was in excellent condition aside from the missing piece. 🙄

3 years? Wth do they do that takes it three years it should take no less than a week or two . You get it, open it, count it, cut a check, and mail it out. Our federal government don’t give you three years when you owe them money they want it now.
  • why did the bank need for them to start looking bad for them to do the right thing

  • Although banks are privately owned they are legal representatives of the US Treasury and are supposed to take care of the services to the public , including verifying and exchanging currency . If they don't want to provide these services then what is the use of a bank . Also some banks today are less likely to provide services that others do so it pays to be picky about where you bank .

Bank of America is just not good to their customers. They could easily see this lady dilemma but just didn't care. I bet Walmart would take most of those bills the way they were. Shame on the bank. It should take public attention to get them to do right by their customers.

banks are private companies and can do whatever they want. this is a good learning experience so people realize banks are not to be trusted. if you have damaged bills you can send them to the US treasury who will replace them.
