Love how Dr.Ehrman explains biblical narratives and theology so we can understand. Alex is a great student eager to understand and asks great questions. Enjoyed this conversation. Always something to learn.

I really like the passive approach to the conversation. No hatred involved, just discussing discrepancies. Makes it a lot easier to listen too when both parties seem actually involved and don’t have an agenda other than education.

Hope to see Bart Ehrman again, he's a great guest. Merry Christmas everyone + Happy New Year
  • The problem with inerrancy is not so much the inability to concede that this or that small detail is wrong, but more the implication of ' if that's wrong....then what else might be wrong ?'
  • @ShireTown1824
I love it when you guys connect for a conversation, its always a good one. A great host and a great guest.

As someone who had to learn English as a second language, I immediately made the connection between holiday and holy day once I learned the word 'holy'. But I guess this was easier for me to spot because I kinda have to have higher awareness of the language because it wasn't my first language. Conversely, it's harder for me to notice this kind of thing in my native language because I never really have to think about it.

I’ve never seen anyone play devil’s advocate in pursuit of absolute objectivity quite like Alex. Absolutely masterful! And of course, Bart Ehrman is always excellent. Great combination!

The internet and longform podcasts are gradually changing how we as a modern civilization learn and study. This example of a professor and a student doing an excersice in front of a silent aduience of tausends, someday hundreds of thousands listeners is en example of supporting this. Thanks to both of you for this lecture.
  • @bigol7169
Alex honestly and indifferently seeks the truth. No dogmatic apologetics, no starting with his conclusion and working backwards, no confirming his biases with guests that agree with him. Legend 🎄
  • @deteski
Fascinating, thanks Bart! Love your enthusiasm for the material and I always learn new stuff
  • 1:26 I know Alex was low-key joking but the fact that literally happened to me and I stuck my headphones on and decided to listen to this is scarily funny 😂 amazing conversation guys really loved it. Keep up the great work
  • @DDucky636

  • I laughed out loud when you talked about Luke and going to Egypt, India and the Americaa. Best laugh I've had in awhile.

As a Christian, I really like Alex and the way he conducts interviews. Such a calm and unbiased nature to him.
