  • Tool is one of the most unique, creative bands out there. Everyone in this band is a technical genius at what they do. I hope you do more of their music. The lead singer likes to point out the hypocrisy of most organized religion because his father was overbearing, abusive and claimed to be a Christian yet ran out on him and his mother as a child after his mom had a bad stroke and became an invalid in a wheelchair. He really goes after Scientology even more though. You should check out Aenema with lyrics.

Awesome tune! "LIAR - LAWYER- MIRROR What's the difference?" Amazing lyrics
  • @imopen2
“Vicarious” would be a great one to do off the same album. It calls out society for sitting at home feeling safe while simultaneously living through their tvs and craving stories of violence and death to both entertain them and reinforce their feelings of safety
  • More Tool please! Right In Two, Schism, 46 & 2, Aenima, Lateralus, The Grudge. Honestly too many to name. The whole discography is amazing and mind opening.
  • Don't pull back on Tool because you feel they are challenging your faith. I saw it in your face. And that's OK. You were patient. And open. Tool will stand for you having your faith. Even if they don't believe it. It's just a song about perspective and the hypocrisy of those who look the other way. ✌️❤🤟

Jambi is slept on and by far my favorite Tool song also from the 10,000 Days album.

When someone calls out religions for being hypocritical, they aren't pointing a finger at everyone who engages with the faith. Just those that perpetuate the hypocrisy. Which nobody can deny. You guys should be happy when people call out hypocrisy and failings of religion and the humans that take advantage of faith to use and abuse others. Shouldn't be mad when attention is called to it. But I get it. You're young. Perspective takes time. God bless. Take care.

I love how much Taj loves guitars. It’s so clear he’s vibing on a whole other level.

I never heard the summary/ meaning that you read out about this song before. I always believed that it was about the hypocrisy around drug laws; how the lawyers, people in government, jurors etc all take drugs, but someone can be sent to jail just for possessing a small amount of weed or whatever. But Tool songs do tend to have multiple meanings. Great reaction :)
  • @ffinkral
This song has nothing to do with the church. Maynard has come out and said that a friend of Danny's (the drummer) was given a harsh jail sentence for weed and then later the judge got arrested for also doing drugs.
  • I'd think Aenima or 46 and 2 should be next. Those are both essentials.

I love seeing people discovering Tool for the first time. My favorite band followed closely by A Perfect Circle.
  • @autistuck3688
Now that you’ve done Tool, your channel is going to blow up on another level!!🤘👏
  • Maynard is a trip my God son's best friend passed away 2 months later tool showed up in their backyard and played 2 hours for them!
  • @misschris6534
Perfect Circle, another band graced with Maynard's voice. The song Judith is particularly angry and heartbreaking. You don't have to agree with his lyrics but I don't judge them or him either. His voice and songs are haunting. An incredible artist.
  • I am 53 and Tool has been my favorite band since the 90's. Some people don't get them but that's because they aren't open to receive the greatness. You should ease into Tool by checking out the time signatures that are easier to follow. Try Jambi , or Vicarious next. I enjoy the channel and watching you guys discover some great music.
  • The five of you individually and as a group are such a gift. I don’t just watch you every day I look forward to watching you. You expand my horizons, exposing me to new musical and cultural experiences I otherwise would never have, and causing me to hear music I have been listening to for years in new ways as it is filtered through your responses. Mad respect from this 76-year old white lady. God Bless you.
