It makes me feel better knowing I’ve come so far after my surgery 3 years ago with no therapy or medication. My ankle might never be the same but I’ve done the most I can possible on my own to help it heal and get back to as “normal” as it can possibly be. Water aerobics and religiously tapping my foot to the hardest drum riffs that would pop into my head made it possible for me to get where I am now and I’m grateful my recovery went as well as it did. Best of luck to anyone else recovering from this specific injury it’s a pain in the ass but you can get back to 100% if not past that. Don’t give up!!! keep going!!You got this!!!
  • I suffered a Trimalleolar fracture with my right ankle in November. I’m in physical therapy still. I’m able to walk unassisted, but still have a bit of a limp and a bit of discomfort. Thank You for your video, it lets people know better days are ahead from this difficult injury.

Thank you for the video. I am 8 weeks out of surgery, doing physical therapy, and still don't have full motion around my injured ankle. This video gives me hope and power. Hope you doing well!
  • Thanks for posting this video it really helps to hear from someone who has gone through this.
  • This is very encouraging to see after recently having ORIF surgery on my Rt ankle for multiple fractures and dislocations.
  • thank you for showing us this. I'm a tibia plateau fracture guy, but this does help. appreciate it.

I hope you are healed up even more now! Thanks for sharing your experience. It’s helpful to those of us going through similar things. I had my ankle rebuilt after multiple undiagnosed breaks, torn tendons, ligaments, etc. I haven’t started PT yet but I hope to be able to walk and move as well as you can! Have a great day!
  • Thank you so much for your video. I'm just 4 weeks out from surgery. I also had a trimalleolar fracture. Your video provides hope and helps to give a realistic picture of the future. 🙏 ❤ I hope you are continuing to recover!

I have the same lateral (outside) plates/screws and have extensive discoloration and tenderness if anything touches it. Reduced ROM as well. I’m about a year out now. Very grateful to see your video—-thought it was just me.

Thank you for sharing. I'm 7 months post surgery for a trimalleolar ankle fracture. (three casts, ten screws and a plate)I was 12 weeks non weight bearing and my foot is not adjusting on the same timeline I set out for it to. Every morning I wake up in pain and have to peg leg pete it for a few minutes before I'm able to resemble a normal walking gait. I still trip over my toes, shoes, thin air.. Your lunge demo made me feel better about my expectations for recovery. I'm trying to be patient. Thank you for taking the time to share your progress.

Stumbled across this video. I broke my fibula and foot (grade 3 high ankle sprain) from a skiing accident Jan 2023. It's almost 6 months since surgery, had a plate and screws similar to yours and two tightropes for my ankle. For day to day routine, I'm pretty much back to normal. I'm learning to run and jump again. My scar is still deep red and a weird tingling sensation when touching the scar or top of the foot. Hope you continue recovery.

Wow. I have the EXACT same screws and plate but on my left ankle. I am at week 6 in 3 days. I hope to get cleared to start walking at that time. As a professional martial arts instructor this was a very traumatic experience but my surgeon is very confident that I will not only walk but run, jump and of course kick again. On my way to recovery. Thanks for your video am inspired

I am also recovering from a trimaluar fracture from 7 months ago. I still can not walk long distance with out pain. It is very comforting to know that it is not permanent.
  • Wow. Very informative video. I fell into a sewer in Indonesia in September 23 and suffered from trimaleluar fracture. I got 14 screws and a plate in my left ankle. The Bali surgeon was realy good. I could walk again without boot and crutches after 6 weeks. My german surgeon allowed me to go cycling after 5 weeks. Cycling works better than walking. I feel everything what you mention in your video. I hope it geht's better over time.

I am 2 days out of surgery, currently laying in bed with my leg up in a cast, not feeling great with the palexia medication I have, your video has helped me see some light. Thanks 👌
  • I am currently just 4 weeks out of the cast and currently doing physical therapy. Thank you so much for this! It is very helpful.
  • I'm glad you are doing so well, and it make it easier to hope that it is possible for better days to come! 💝💐 I am 15 months in recovery from a trimalliolar fracture to my right ankle, too. I have noticed that my ankle has gotten worse lately, with extreme pain certain days, and require crutches. It feels like something has loosened. I can not jump or even point my foot to go down stairs. I go down stairs with a stiff 90 degree ankle. I will also get rid of alot of shoes with heels. I am aware that those days are over. I called the orthopedic doctor and got it xrayed. I was right, the main long screw through the tibia and fibula had started to wiggle and carve out the tibia, with "bone gravel" around it, and also making a havoc of pain around the main area and up through the whole calf. Also, the 2 screws holding the inner ankle, still cause a pinching and horrible pain. On the latest xray, I can see that the screw heads seem to have been scraping away on the talus. So I am waiting to get an appointment for screw removal surgery. I hope that will help my pain and be able to get better movement in my ankle. :goodvibes: I'm thinking about all you guys out there struggling with this injury from h*ll! 👹Wish you all a good recovery! 💖

You explain very clearly exactly how my ankle feels. Your scars are very nice. Mine looks like dr Frankenstein worked on me. I’m 60 and it happened to the day after thanksgiving 2019 surgery Dec 4, 2019. I’m a slow healer. I have been trying to be normal forever. The tightness in around the area is every morning. The rubber band feeling is one I have complained about. I’ve settled into this leg hurting for the rest of my life. Oh I did mine with a foldable scooter it folded up on me. The attorneys wouldn’t touch it bc of the company that sells it. Lost my retirement money bc I lost my job after this accident.
