A Portuguese girl has been named as one of the three children killed in the Southport stabbing attack, with eight more injured, along with two adults who were trying to protect them.

Alice Aguiar, 9, described as a "happy, smiley" girl, was killed in the "ferocious" attack, alongside two girls, aged six and seven, who died on Monday.

Five of the other children who have been hurt are in a critical condition in hospital, along with both of the two adults.

Police said they are not treating the as terror-related, but that they were still unclear on the motive.

Officers said in a press conference on Monday that a 17-year-old suspect had been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

The PM should wake up and give more power to the police to do more searches and more patrolling so we can stop these thing from happening. The police need to more firm and not soft touches.
