The scene I had waited for from the moment Carson was happily polishing silver while singing “She Stole My Heart Away.” Add Tom declaring Downton his true home and you have one of my favorite scenes of the whole series 💜

My absolute favorite part is when Tom walked in with Sybbie and repeated "To the bride and groom". Mary's face lit up like a Christmas tree. She was so happy to have her brother back. Even Carson who once said Tom would bring shame on the family was happy to see him. Carson came a long way in accepting Tom as a member of the family. Truly one of my favorite moments season 6.

"I've not got any ushers!" - probably my favorite line from the whole run-up to the ceremony. Tom's return caps off the episode (and the reception) wonderfully.

IT was their souls that fell in love ... not bodies or minds or egos. Love the Carson and Mrs Hughes storyline. And also whatever succeeds from here. Especially the Carson cooks episode.

That little sigh by Ms. Patmore at the end of the ceremony has always touched my heart. I do hope that her and Mr. Mason will have their own ceremony if we get another film. Ms. Patmore and Mr. Molesey were my favorite 2 characters. Love seeing them both happy. Tom coming into the reception was another highlight! And I don't want to overlook the interaction between Dinker and Spratt. Wonderful actors who played so well off of each other, and never disappointed in their ability to entertain. What a great episode!

0:45-1:35 Is it just me or seeing Carson nervous and flustered the Absolute Sweetest thing on God's green earth?!? 💗

1:20 Thomas really did want to be an usher for Carson. Idh why, but my favorite scene in the whole show is when Barrow fills in for Carson, and when he returns he expects Thomas to have sullied up the Butlers room, or maybe even taken something, only to find that Thomas left the room spotless, cleaner than when Carson left, with a little paper in the door with his name in beautiful, careful handwriting. Thomas always wanted Carsons approval because he respected him so much and wanted Carson to respect him as a servant and a man. And it was all shown with no dialouge. Such a perfect scene that shows how tortured Thomas really is, feeling like hell never belong bit desperately wanting to.

Loved the bagpipes! I often forget that Mrs. Hughes is a Scotswoman, so this is a nice reminder.

Tom's entrance always makes me tear up. He is my favorite, after all, so I may be biased. 😊

“Milady, Mr. Carson would forgive you if you attacked him with a brick.” 😂

"A peer in favour of reform is like a turkey in favour of Christmas"😂😂😂😂
  • I'll say this as one of many praises for Downton, their food & drink spreads are always delicious looking.
  • I watched Upstairs, Downstairs years ago on PBS. When Downton Abbey came along, i figured it was a copy and never watched it. CBC is currently running Downton Abbey, and I can't wait for each episode to air!
