  • Today I learned that the UK has a thing where the king's speech is not actually things the king wanted to talk about.
  • If I wrote the kings speech I make him say loads of funny names like Mike Hunt and Ben Dover
  • A question for the ages: What WILL Starmer as PM?
  • A man recieved a mysterious call one night... and the caller said: What will Starmer what as PM? But Starmer was as PM Then who was phone?
  • Guys the thumbnail is wrong. It says 'What will Starmer as PM?'
  • @Adam-326
Remember, in German (whence King Charles’ ancestry comes), the word “will” means “wants”, so TLDR were just paying homage to that. The question in its original German would be “Was will Starmer als PM”, so the English translation was accurate.
  • @C.I...
What will Starmer as PM? What will Starmer what as PM?
  • Anyone happy that politics is already going back to being nice and boring again? I’m not saying the problems are gone but hopefully the mad flailing around but accomplishing nothing is done with.
  • When everyone asks what will Starmer as PM but nobody asks how will Starmer as PM :(
  • Best wishes to the Uk and may the next coming years be fruitful for y’all- Love from Taiwan ❤🎉
  • “As only the most hardened TLDR News viewing politicos” OMG, that’s me! Thanks for the shoutout.
  • Once again begging for a permanent weekly version of "What has Starmer done in his first week"
  • @juffjaff
They could save a lot of money by just emailing everyone I reckon.
  • The fact most of the stuff mentioned is stuff we already knew about is a good thing - I would rather that than them swerving and doing something not mentioned in the campaigning for the election
  • Didn't want the right to vote at 16 don't want 16-17 year olds to have it now. Had the discussion when we were that age and Brexit was happening. The general sentiment was that a notable fraction of us would vote but as a joke (That was vote leave because it's funny)
  • It now seems that London wants to do its homework instead of wanting to hold Brussels responsible for the situation. Previous governments were more concerned with partying and complaining about the EU.
  • I suspect HS2 being restored to its original scope is in the cards, just not in the next year. HS2 without the extension to Manchester and Leeds was basically useless. This does give Starmer the opportunity to re-tender the project under more favorable conditions with less Tory backscratching running the costs into the stratosphere.
