Drop in handgaurd replacement on an ar15 rifle that you can do at home! save some money and do it yourself. This video shows the removal of the original A2 style fore end on this DPMS gun. I installed the NCstar VISM keymod drop-in rail. The rail is very lightweight, and offers alot over the stock configuration.

If no one knows this handguard is designed to go over a. Ar 15 with an a2 sight on it. That's what the top gap is for. I had this on my ar. I recently got a stngr handguard and it came with a gas block. I pulled the a2 sight and replaced it with the new gasblock. Perfect upgrade to free float handguard. I recommend it. Replaced it for 160. This particular hand guard could be found for between 70-160. If your on a budget it's a good option. Very sturdy.

Thanks for the video I have the Anderson Manufacturing AM15 and just got this hand guard off of optics planet for 80. Can’t wait to install it. Again thanks for the video

In your case with the low profile gas block what did you put in the rail space after the install , was thinking some Magpul mbus sights but then the space is still there or a high profile A2 detachable front sight for the offset

Looks good, I like the idea. I've only swapped for carbine length drop-in quad rails in my limited handguard changing experience... I got the handguard removal tool for $8 or $9 so for me it's well worth it.
  • Hey bro thanks for the video do you know if this hand guard will work on most ar ? I have a core NATO sport and am looking to change out my basic ass hang guard . Thanks
  • @uwont4gitme
Would that guard fit the 7.62 barrel with a gas block too?

What is the manufacturers recommended torque specification for handguard screws? Could the manufacturers recommended torque specification for handguard screws be different from one manufacturer to another? Thanks

The spring loaded barrel shroud locking ring on M4 and M16 style AR, actually seems allot quicker and more convenient for changing out the hands guards or barrel shroud. I was going to get an M4 style upper, but figured it'd be pointless if in going to change out the furniture anyways. An it seems like they're might not be quite as many options available for that design. An then I also kind of like the fixed front sight, but only if I'm going to leave it in that original M4 looking design, otherwise it's kind just in the way. At the same time the way some of these barrel shrouds have an opening on top to allow the sight to stick still. Looks pretty cool as well.

Good video, i havs a dpms and wasn't sure what i needed for a hand guard for mine...

Do you have a link I know it's been a few years but having trouble finding that model
  • My at pic rail has block is about half the size. I kind of don’t like the big gap it leaves (where the A2 should be). For ease of swap though it’s tempting
