Big Orders For Boeing: Planemaker Is Down, But It's Not Out...

Published 2024-07-28
Spring 2024 was a tough season for Boeing in terms of sales and orders. The American planemaker revealed that, for the month of May, it received just one order for four 787-10 aircraft from Taiwan’s EVA Air. This means that it failed to attract a single order for its Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in May - which was the same thing that happened the month prior. Indeed, in April, the company managed to secure orders for just seven aircraft, none of which were MAX planes.

But coming out of the Farnborough International Airshow in late July, Boeing’s executives must be a little bit more optimistic about the state of the company, if not completely relieved. The planemaker secured orders from airlines around the world for commercial aircraft throughout its portfolio.

Both Airbus and Boing has enough orders, the challenge is to deliver them. The company that can produce the most aircraft will be the one that sell more.
  • @MrRawMonkey
Buy Boeing and take a chance. Fly Boeing and take a chance.
  • @desobrien3827
The Boeing orders are more about..."I need a new aircraft & Airbus just cannot keep up demand, so here is a minimal order for some aircraft Boeing! I am Licenced on 747's, 767's and all engine variants...worked on 707's, 737's when Boeing was an engineering company making great aircraft...I had nothing but praise for Boeing quality, now...I have zero respect and contempt for Boeing senior management...jail the crooked bastards.

Boeing upper mgt still does not deserve year end bonuses. They should not be rewarded for filling the hole they dug in the first place.
  • Everyone talking about boeing getting orders ... but not about how the a320neo got so much more orders with the massive backlog it has, or about the many orders for the a330neo...
  • @AJR-07
Lets al be honest... a350 will arrive at korean earlier than 777x, especially with boeing's situation...
  • Airbus has declared : we are sold out, and don't accept any more orders. So where can the client's go ?

That’s why I can’t understand the fanboyism. Boeing and Airbus need each other you don’t want a monopoly neither one could supply the needs of everyone alone ..it’s so stupid to see people wish harm and destruction to Boeing yes they have made mistakes but it will pass I personally like both airframers. It’s cool to see them keep each other honest
  • Suprisingly, Airbus is on a roll during the Farnborough Airshow but Boeing is a little bit optimistic but not as much as before
  • @ErnandoColetta
Números de pedidos só aumentam para o 777X mais as entregas por conta da certificação continua sem datas....faz 5 anos que esse avião fez o primeiro voo...

Boeing managment has still enough point to worry about.
  • @mwat22
Won't improve so long as Boeing is stock market oriented, chasing stock price will always come at the detriment of quality and innovation as the exist on opposite ends of the business graph

I'm most excited for Korean air's 777x order I'm sure I will be on one of them from LAX to Korea in the future. There is no way once the 747's and the A380's are gone that they're gonna put an aircraft other than the 777x to replace them.

Boeing must consolidate and bolster quality controls to regain public confidence following the aftermath of the 737 max fallout.

KA should double check all screws, nuts and bolts. Good luck KoreanAir.
