The only thing messed up about this movie is the fact that the grandmother donated her home and all of her property to the church, rather than leaving it to her grandson. I hate how much of a grift religion is, and how many elderly people think they're buying their way into heaven by doing shit like this. My mom barely made $900.00 a month on Social Security, but still insisted on donating 10% of her income to televangelists. Never mind the fact that they're worth tens of millions of dollars.
  • I find the grandmother donating the house to charity when he has a grandson who's not doing well as being Mean. I don't care if she donates every other property but why the house? Does she want him to become homeless and start robbing again, ending in prison? He's also a kind man and everyone deserves a second chance. I mean, he took care of the child so well.

I am a foster parent a very similar situation happened. I was not down and out like him, but a child I really loved. He had been returned to his mother three times who loved him but could not stop her on ways of Destruction. Finally she agreed to give us permanent custody and it's the greatest thing greatest feeling..

I seriously cannot stop smiling after seeing that ending. That is so wholesome and sweet.

I feel sorry for Sam. How can a mother leave her son without contact him? Eddy is a nice person although he was in prison for something he did but he learned a lesson not to repeat what he did. But becoming a father figure to Sam is amazing. Life is a mystery. Margie friended Sam and Eddy and that was good. Shelley Sam's mother return and caused problem to them but later willing to give Sam to Eddy. Eddy was really a changed person and now adopted Sam as hos own. The question of this story why Eddy's mother gave her house to charity instead of her son Eddy.

Ok but like the fact that the child got the approval to be on the show is amazing im so happy he got it

Imo, if you just randomly abandon your child without at least finding a family member or someone else to take care of them until whenever you come back, you don't really have a right to demand them back until you fix your habits.

There was a case in my country where a church always received loads of donations from their church goers. The church founder began to show his lavish lifestyle and extravagant spendings. The church was audited and investigations began. The police found the church founder misappropriated the church funds for himself and his wife, and he was arrested not long after that.

Man, this is the same thing that happened to me. This movie explains what goes to the person's mind. My mother just like this, my dad wasn't really. There were no actual physical altercations. But my mother and my father knew that they would need to give me to someone else, which would be my aunt.
  • I just love these recaps. There are so many movies out there that I've never watched and wouldn't have the ability to do so. Thank you so much, new subscriber here.

Not feeling sorry for yourself and getting a job is the best drugs you can do. Looking at yourself in the mirror with pride and having honor. When your mom asks you for $500 and you can pay it without a second thought, that is the best high of all. ❤
  • Is it fair to say that Justin is like the older brother figure that little boy needs or does Justin get to play a big brother figure in this movie?

I love this movie recap and relate a lot to Sam. My dad, although deeply flawed, tried his best to accept me regardless of my choices and to try and understand why i dressed the way i dressed and acted the way i acted. It took some time but he loved me and supported me through my confusing journey. I don't recognize who he is now. But i know he still cares about me. And i care about him. I wish he would get better. Even though its just fiction.. its like watching reality for me but just a bit more dramatic.
  • This is so cute. These type of movies have been my favorite since Big daddy came out with Adam Sandler
