The polite paw in the tub to say please stop was adorable 😂
  • @acee005
Vanessa: Look at that! Look at that belly! Bean: Lady, poke again and you’ll see I’ve got room for you in there.
  • @lynnjasen9727
He really is a sweetheart! He did not once take a swipe at you. Escape, yes, murder, no! I hope he has a long happy life in his new home with lots of really fun exercise. Your best talent is that you don’t give up on them easily. Yay! 💕🇨🇦
  • Thank you for making this cat a clean Bean! Best of luck to him and his new forever family. I fostered an overweight cat for a year and a half, and got her to her goal weight that the vet recommended. It was not easy! Her owner went back to feeding on demand, with exactly the results you’d expect. Broke my heart.

I'm sure his full government name is Bean And Cheese Burrito, so Bean is an appropriate nickname 😆
  • @gilliantague
"You will not make it- you are a bowling ball"...😂
  • @sarahwar3538
Bean: "First I get put on a diet, now you shave my butt and give me a bath. Someone said this new people thing is fun. I demand treats and an explanation."
  • My beautiful Renny was 23 lbs. when I adopted him. Sweetest cat in the world. It took me a long time to get his weight down safely. The damage was done though and he already had diabetes. He lived to age 17 and it was devastating when he died. I will always miss his cuddles. Still brings me to tears.

For a cat, he tolerated the bath and blow dryer quite well; to the point where I think he was enjoying the blow dryer on his tummy so long as it was a respectable distance away.
  • @DR4G0N3SS
He definitely ate all the Beans 😂
  • @rsoubiea
That Bean thinks he can even leap to escape cracks me up. He’s chunk, I wish his owners success on this health journey. He deserves it. ❤
  • I love how he's not swatting at the hose or the dryer, just putting his paw on it like "please don't..."
  • @mystictempt763
Poor Bean. I hope his new family can give him the proper nutrition and exercise to get him to a healthy weight.
  • @brbr13
The gentle paw trying to stop the nozzle😭🥺🥺
  • This is my family’s cat!! Bean is doing amazing, he’s a very happy cat and a very active cat 🩷 thank you for grooming him.
  • @Just_Pele
"Can I get under your chin?" "Which one?"
  • Bean was grumbly but all over a lovely kitty. No strikes, just a push away (enough) paw. I hope he feels better after and that his new family will support him to get back on track x

People really underestimate the effect arthritis has on weight, especially in older animals (and people). It very quickly turns into a vicious cycle where it hurts them to move, which means they gain more weight, which puts more pressure on their joints, which causes more pain, so they move less, which means more weight gain, etc. Sometimes you have to treat that pain before they have any hope of losing that weight.
