A lot of people mistake the bubble-wrap for protective packaging. You are supposed to use it to communicate with your new ants using Morse Code, which was invented by ants. Samuel Morse stole the idea from them. Usually you will be provided with a large enough sheet of bubble-wrap for a short greeting and to provide the map coordinates for the location where you want the colony to establish itself. If you just randomly pop the bubble-wrap your may confuse the ants or anger them. Congratulations on your hipster ant colony where deconstructed versions of popular ant dishes are served on sheets of rock.

As a child, I got an Uncle Milton’s ant farm for Christmas one year… never ordered ants, just caught a few from the yard and put them in…didn’t realize that doomed them til they died.
